Ratings & Reviews for DuroMax HX Series 15000 Starting / 12000 Running Watt Gas and Propane Dual fuel Portable Generator

A pretty blue brick

The generator failed when I needed it. In fairness to the company, the starter battery was dead but when I replaced that, the generator still didn't work. Even though I registered the generator when I bought it- and the company acknowledged receipt of the registration by email- they said that I was not in their database and refused to provide support. I've got a heavy, expensive blue brick now with a company that refuses support. Buyer beware--I would not buy a product from this company ever...

XP1500HX ordered and delivered

Happy with everything so far aside from a few little gotchas in the setup. The instructions state that wheels should he added prior to removing from the pallet but there is no room to place the wheels on the axles as the pallet is flush with the axle. The battery panel is held on by 4 x 9mm bolts but only 10 mm wrench is provided. Other than these small things everything went smoothly and as expected.

Experienced Gen user Happy so far!

Veteran of many hurricane seasons, and Gen use. I am impressed with the care of packing and the ease of set up. It was a pleasant surprise that chord ends were provided in the different voltage/amps needed. Test run went smoothly, all systems worked as advertised. I did have to go purchase specific non additive oil for the first 8 hour run in. Even at its weight, it is well balanced for moving.

Solid unit. Great customer service

Bought 15k watt dual fuel unit. Set up according to instructions which are pretty clear and straight forward. You provide oil— just under 2 quarts. Fill. Hook up negative battery cable— a little tight to get to but very doable. Add fuel or use propane. Hose included. Push button or pull start. Actually starts pretty easily by pull cord. Runs good. Provides good power. Solid unit. Would definitely recommend. Thanks

Very impressive generator

The only item I wish could be better is the cap to the fuel tank. The cap is not designed to be able to get a good grip to open and, likewise, close tightly. A higher top would be so beneficial.

Bad timing to buy it.

The wait to get and not to thrilled now that it $500.00 cheaper now.

So far so good

We really have not utilized this product yet but I am very pleased with the ease in getting it put together. If I can, I will update via an edit. Started right up

4 years and needed Tech Support

After you have had something a while and need help with a repair that is the true test of the company. I test my XP13000HX each month. I run only propane so the maintenance is easier. I went out this month to start it up and the Start button was non responsive. I called support and connected with Anthony. He patiently walked me through the process and we checked several things to find the CO sensor needs to be replaced. I am relieved to know the unit is in relatively good shape and that is...

USA is always better made.

It’s a fair value. Not the highest of quality, but considering not made is the USA-fair.

Dual fuel. pay attn to valve settings

Initial crank on propane good. 120/240v outlet not connect; I can find LR/NEMA terminals for house.

Looks well made, but not maintenance friendly

The 15kW unit is MASSIVE. It is heavy, and seems well made. The oil dipstick is tough to reach and the stick itself is tough to re-insert after removing. To add oil, you need a flexible hose and funnel. To drain the oil, it looks like I'll have to remove one of the wheels and lift the generator with a jack or other lift. "Ease of Maintenance" does not seem to have been a part of the design for this unit. The engine cranked easily on propane and ran smoothly. Noise level was not bad at all. Overa...

15000Big Boy

This is my second Duramax Generator... And so far I'm happy

Great Product. After Helene I ordered it.

I recieved this and unpacked it, started assembly. Fired right up after completing assembly.

Wife says it is bigger than she thought.

The unit seems to be well built. Still in the process of setting it up on my porch where it is protected from the weather but still operable from there.
