[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this generator about 5 years ago I used it during the freeze storm in February 2021 for a whole week non stop after sitting for 3 years with fuel in it starter right up now in June 2024 we had a bad storm that left us with no electricity for 5 day and this generator was working day and night keeping my 82 years old grandmother safe and comfortable. Great generator totally worth the price.

very satisfied
i bought this generator several months ago and have put 4 hours on it. It runs my whole house including water pump, heat pump, stove, etc. the electric start has been thoroughly reliable. My only complaint is the run time guage, which is hard to interpret, rather than a straight on fuel guage

Would Not RecommendBought it 5 months ago used it a few times and now has no compression. I own alot of Dewalt always been happy with them but the engine on this unit won't run after less than 100 hours total.

2 year review
Would RecommendBought this to replace a 20yr old backup generator. It has a very good 420cc engine. Starts and runs well. Could use a bit better shrouding on the muffler (IMO). A quick load will not bog this unit down as It has a great engine & operates well inside it's load/power limits of 8000w running/10,000w surge and has 30A breakers - it will never be overly stressed, I would expect it to last a long time. Have run this for over 8hrs at a stretch with no issues. It has a runtime hours meter instead of a ...

Strong Motor/Rest is Debatable
Would RecommendWe use this generator for construction - we abuse it, haven't ever changed the oil - but even after 2 years when its 30F outside it pulls 1-2 pulls. Within a week of getting it the LCD display conked out and the starter died. One pair of outlets doesn't work - but the motor starts on 1 pull and makes gobs of power. The idle down works (most of the time) but this thing is monster loud. It is reliable but I wish all the accessories were as great as the motor.

great buy
Would RecommendI have owned many portable generators kubota honda etc. i have never used the single 120 volt outlets on this unit. only the 30 amp plug to back feed a home . This unit has been absolutely a beast. for the money you cant go wrong. during a past storm the unit performed wonderful. My only dislike is you have to charge the starting battery separately with the provided charger. The handles make moving this unit around very easy.

Reliability
Would RecommendI bought my DeWalt 8000 generator the week before Hurricane Laura hit us here in Louisiana. But it came in real handy 6 weeks later when our electricity was down for over 5 days. This beauty ran for all 5 days providing power to my home everything refrigerators, freezers, lights, fans, outlets and water pump. The only electrical devices we did not run were the A.C, the electric range and the water heater. I had a connector installed to make it seamless. Does it make noise, yes it's a gene...

Dewalt 8000 Watt Generator
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this to use as a whole house generator. My wife is an electrician so she installed the Transfer switch and hooked it all up. We have been shut down for the fourth time in the month of October. This generator worked flawlessly during each outage. This last time we were out for 5 days. I am a General Contractor and I have used Dewalt tools for years and years and they have never let me down.
