Good set of bits

I drilled the heads off of 12 stripped stainless steel screws with no issues....cut through them like a hot knife through butter. Just remember to use oil while drilling, slow speed, and light to moderate pressure. If you do that, these drill bits should last.

I like it so far

only used a few sizes so far but I've gone through 1/4 in steel with the 1/4 in bit and it isn't dull yet. They do cost more but I've gone through the same material with black oxide bits and had to stop and sharpen it half way through and at the end.

Decent for the price

Bought to do metal work in home shop/ home repairs (also my childrens home handyman).needed something better than the average metal drill, but not pay a fortune. Work well but need to go slow like any other metal bit. Only used a couple times , so far so good

Great drill set

Been using these colbalt drills on SST with good success. Mild steel and the like are a breeze for these bad boys.

Dewalt cobalt drill bits

Cobalt drill bits go through harden and stainless steel very well. Extra cost is well worth it.

29.99 for junk

had 2 bolts to drill out and my old milwaukee drilled 1 out and started the second this dewalt set could not even do anything but burn out

Not very sharp

I bought these drill bits in a hurry because I needed to drill the head of a stainless steel screw out of a shower door fixture so I could remove the fixture. The screw head was only about 1/4" in diameter. It was just a simple self-tapping phillips head screw that had gotten the head of it stripped so I could not get a screwdriver in it. After about 5 minutes and 2 drill bits later .. I finally gave up and had to use a cold chisel and hammer to beat the heat of the screw off from the side. ...

USED THE 3/8

I predrilled with two smaller bits then got threw 1 broken bolt with no problem bit burnt up 1/4 the way threw the next one after that i burnt up 2 titanium bits they got me to the half way point and yes i used cutting oil

Garbage for Stainless...

Fried the 3 largest bits and even broke the largest one... I had to drill 2 holes into 1/8" stainless plate with the largest bit and failed miserably. I love Dewalt but would NOT recommend this set to anyone... Thanks but no thanks....

Experience Required

Cobalt is a very hard material. That also means it is brittle. These bits cut through material that dull lesser grade bits in minutes. Always use cutting oil. Never let the bit become too hot to touch. Drill slow in the beginning and as fast as possible just before breaking through the hole. Use two hands. Never allow the bit to twist off center in hole. These bits are fabulous in very hard metals, no other bit will do. But be prepared to break some. They are hard and brittle. Buy extras for big...

Low quality

1/16" stainless should not cause a 2hour old bit to bind or break.

recomend is very questionable

These things maybe one or two out of the lower sizes worked and snapped. Nothing but china junk, you'd be lucky if 2 out of the lower sizes caught enough to drill into anything.

Okay bits

Drilling through 8th inch steel and broke almost every bit trying to punch four holes

Shelled out for these

Paid what seems now like a premium for this quality of a drill bit set hoping that these cobalt would be good for drilling metal. Just broke my third bit drilling slowly and carefully through 1/4" copper sheet. Find something else for metal. Don't even try drilling through wood - the cheap 48-piece sets for half the cost of this will work better.
