okay for specific context
for light to medium duty this saw paired with the "buy 1 get 1" DeWalt 5 amp hour battery, this is a reasonable purchase. Otherwise, I'd go with the DeWalt brushless and a cheaper 5 amp hour battery. It does kick great clouds of sawdust into your face. Also, the rip guide is not something you will likely find in the store. It is available online.

Would Not RecommendLet me first say that I own a large number of Dewalt tools and almost exclusively buy Dewalt based on their quality and durability. This saw is a huge disappointment. I have used it several times cutting various wood sizes and each time it has stopped working in the middle of the cut. Doesn't even make it through a 2x4! Stopped several times cutting 1/2' OSB. Each time it takes a minute to restart. I have to press the safety several times before it restarts. Turns jobs that should take seconds...
