Would RecommendI was always using a drill until I learned about the impact drills... wow, what a difference it makes. The design allows it to apply random bursts of torque that drives the screw. I have used this on concrete and it did great!

Not worth it
Would Not RecommendPurchased the DeWalt impact xr 20 yesterday. I used it intermittently for 20 minutes and the thing got so hot that it welded the socket adapter into itself. I went and grabbed my cheap old Porter Cable that I have had for years to finish the job. At least It barley get warm over the course of 2 hours.
Wish I had bought one earlier.
Would RecommendInstalling new deck posts and using Simpson 8" screws---this tool makes this an easy process.
