Drill chuck quality poor

I bought this product thinking I needed to upgrade from NiCad to Lithium Ion. Hex tool bits and round drill bits would work loose after a few uses and fall out of the chuck constantly. One of the batteries failed after a few years with just light household use.

It drills and drives in screws just fine. The batteries keep draining on me in a matter of minutes... might have to take it back

Great when it worked, Not Durable for frequent use

My drill died after 18 months of average use during the renovation of our home. It was primarily used to drill holes for electrical and plumbing with occasional use of a 4" hole saw for sewer rough in. It stalled without warning and let the smoke out while using a 2 1/8" hole saw. The drill motor offered no indication of overheating until that time. Currently awaiting service of the product under warranty, however, I doubt it will last the 20 years of my now ancient 24 volt Dewalt Hammer Dri...

Poor battery performance

This was a gift for my birthday and I use a drill for my personal business several times per week and honestly the battery life is terrible. One of the two batteries can’t hold a charge longer then 5 minutes if that and the other only lasts 10-15 minutes, what’s worse is the charger instantly reads them fully charged sometiems after they completely die in the drill. I’m not sure what the issue is but I am sorely disappointed. If this is a fixable issue or if something may be resolved from DeWalt...

Great Drill

I bought this item on March 1st and it works really good plus it is less heavy than 18volt drills

Just right!

Lighter than my older drill, battery life is excellent, powerful and compact. The bag is very nice to have and holds my other bits etc along with the drill too and not too bulky like some hard cases

Great drill

I’ve had this drill for at least 5 years and build over 1000 sf of decks using 3 1/2 inch screws. Not a week goes by that it isn’t used at least once. This drill is faster and more powerful than most. I’ve dropped it more times than I can count. A year ago it started having an electrical smell when used, however it worked for a year longer, and now only works at full speed. I would buy another in a second. This one has the light above the trigger, so it doesn’t illuminate a screw head as you get...

Stopped Working and returned

I bought this drill to put up shelves and dry wall in the garage. I chose Dewalt because I noticed all the tradesmen use them. Unfortunately this drill developed problems from day one. The first thing I noticed was that after pressing the trigger the light stayed on and did not turn off unless I removed the battery. Then after using it for a few days it started developing an intermittent fault in the trigger and would not work sometimes. This intermittent fault eventually became worse and worse ...

The drill is easy to hold, very comfortable and powerful. Completed 2 tasks already using easy insert drill bits and screwdriver bit. Very easy and fast.

Great Product for the price

I have been a Makita guy for the last 25+ years. I needed a drill right now and my normal source was closed for the weekend. I went to Lowes and found this one. I was pleasantly surprised by this drill. Light weight, well balanced, powerful and great battery life. I like the light as it makes lining up for drilling a lot easier. Would I buy another one, absolutely.

Battery

A drill is only as good as its batteries. I went through the two batteries in four hours. I screwed two and a half and 3 inch premium screws through two by fours. You decide.

Great cordless drill

I've only used it for some light work around the house so far but I really like this drill. It's easy to use and the fact that it came w/ a second battery is great.

I bought it to replace another 20V that was lifted by a workman that was in the house. The replacement does not have the power. I returned the first one. The second is better on power. The grip to tighter the tips is hard on hands. Easy to spin it fast enough to get blisters. The old one was much easier to control. Dewalt seems to change models faster than most people change shorts. All in the name of improving the product.
