Would Not RecommendNote that the caps are made of pressure treated pine and as such are subject to the same issues PT is well known for; checking, splitting, and warping. No amount of paint, stain, oiling, polyurethane, or preservative will change the outcome. That’s why the on board instructions don’t suggest any remedy. You will need to take the caps apart and reglue them every odd year.

Worst purchase ever
Would Not RecommendI bought these two years ago for my deck, very large very nice deck. Stained them and deck and it looked good for the first year. Second year they have split, fallen apart and warped. Save your money and buy metal or plastic caps. These just don’t cut it. I never write reviews, i tend to be a glass half full person, but these are so poor it needed to be addressed.
