Very easy to use

Much needed for Trek composite decking installation

Heads strip out - poor quality

Very poor quality screws! Even with pre-drilling holes, half of the heads stripped out on me. Lowe’s needs to hold their suppliers to quality standards. I had to return the screws for a refund. Which was a huge waste of time and effort. I ultimately purchased a competing product at a different retailer and I’ve had zero heads strips and no pre-drilling required. Lowe’s, step up your game.

Deck Plus Composite Screws

I pre drilled all my holes just to be safe after reading the bad reviews, about how the ends striped out. Still after pre drilling, about every 4th one the head striped out. Come on. You make a slow process a lot slower. Make a better product.

Are these made of aluminum??

These screws have been the bane of my existence. They go in pretty well, with about one in fifteen stripping the head. Heaven forbid you should have to remove them. it's like the head is made of some sort of plastic or cheap metal. About three out of every five strips out. Complete waste of my time. I will never buy these again. When I have to cut the stripped screw off of the board with a hacksaw it's like they're made of titanium.

Try another brand

Not great. The heads easily stripped when drilling them in, had to pre drill holes to make them work.

Stripped every other screw

I'm not sure this is something I could recommend at all, for any purposes. Maybe my composite material was tougher then whatever they tested it on but 1 in 2 bolts stripped, using the provided bit with a simple battery operated drill. They also claim they dont need pre-drilling, but that worked also so infrequently that I just started pre-drilling to save myself time and frustration.

Great screws for Trex decking

These screws are almost invisible once installed. They are the exact same color as the Trex decking, and do a fantastic job of securing the boards when you can't use the hidden fasteners.
