What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise this floor leveler for effectively filling gaps, patching imperfections, and leveling uneven subfloors. Most find it easy to apply and spread with proper tools like drywall knives, with many noting it feathers and trowels well. However, some report extended drying times in thicker applications and difficulty achieving smooth finishes without sanding. Several mention the cured material is extremely hard to sand. Despite these challenges, most customers consider it effective for subfloor preparation when applied correctly.

Would Not RecommendThe material is too thick to work easily into place. Although it takes 6 hours (!!) to cure, it begins to set within moments and becomes even more difficult to work.

Shrinks too much
Would RecommendHad to apply twice as the floor patch shrank beyond an acceptable level.

DAP Gray Patching Compound Review
Would RecommendThis compound makes it so easy to fill, and level out floors. It does not crack when it dries/hardens, and it is flexible when the there is movement with the wooden floor that I applied it to.

Better than expected
Would RecommendI wasn't sure how this product would work or turn out. It was very easy to work with. I have always been happy with DAP products. This crack filler did the job that I needed it to. I did need to sand it afterwards and that didn't work out as well as I had hoped. Next time I will be more careful at making sure that I don't have overspill and that I am as level as I can be applying it. Good product!

Works very well
Would RecommendThis product worked very well for my problem. I had the edge of a floor ducked that was raised and in the way of laying my floating floors. I used this to fill the difference and feather it out. It’s supper easy to use and goes on like a thicker drywall mud. It feels very sold once set and I have no concerns about it holding up.

Never dried
I used a thin layer (about an 1/8”) on a small area of my plywood subfloor to level it out and waited 3 days. It never dried. Had to scrape it all off

Great levelling compound
Would RecommendThis compound worked great. It is thick and found a flexible putty knife to work best.

used to fix some voids in floor
Would RecommendRemodeling a bath and had a few voids in the ply underlayment. This product filled them fine with little to no slump. Sanded easy with a belt sander. No cracking.
