What Customers Are Saying
Customers praise the pink-to-white color-change feature for eliminating guesswork about drying time, and many highlight smooth application and low dust during sanding. Most report excellent results for small repairs and beginner projects, with several achieving professional finishes using thin coats. However, a substantial group reports serious adhesion problems, particularly when bedding joint tape, with tape failing to stick or peeling off. Many also experienced drying delays exceeding 24 hours and excessive shrinkage. Despite these drawbacks, most customers find the color-change feature invaluable for DIY work.

Would Not RecommendI had a 2x2 area that was ready for the skim coat so I thought it could be ok for this since it says so on the package. Well, it didnt spread right leaving gaps here and there. I thought ill let it dry and cover those gaps on a second go. While i waited for it to dry it bubbled in various spots. It was still pretty wet so i ran the trowel over the bubbles only to see them come back. There were less of them but it should not have happned in the first place. This stuff is NOT for skimming. I think...

Do not waste your $$
Would Not RecommendThought I'd give this a try for my renovation project. Tape curled off, not completely dry even after almost 48 hours. Trying to sand just clogs up the sandpaper.

No good
Would Not RecommendIt started sliding down the wall a couple of hours after application. I need to start all over again. Absolute junk.

Unsatisfactory
Would Not RecommendI did a couple drywall joints before I gave up on this product. I could never get the joints to be quite right. It just doesn't want to disappear. I couldn't get a smooth finish. I used a putty knife to remove as much of it as I could and did the job again not using a pre-mix.

Very globby and chunky like cottage cheese
Would Not RecommendWe found it very hard to work with compared to normal joint compound. Nearly impossible to feather and make smooth. Tossing this in the trash.

Tenant teenagers anger
Would RecommendIt worked good for patching the holes that teenagers hand accidentally did. If I was more adapt at drywall work probably wouldn't have taken as long to get done. I just don't do it enough to be quick at it. It looks good just needs painted now.
Drydex
Would RecommendIt is very quick drying and does well with small mail holes, it is thin so does run if applied to thickly

Do not purchase this product
Would Not RecommendBeen slinging MUD for 30+ years and this is the worst. New sheetrock wall installed. Bought Dry Dex for normal finishing process; screw holes, all taped joints both tapered & butt. Product wants to slide off paddle, so must pay extra attention to avoid spillage / waste. Poor adherence also shows up during actual application, dropping onto floor, causing increased waste. Same quality also shows if patching larger holes on walls or ceiling on border of needing tape - DryDex oozes out of location, ...

The pink stuff
Would RecommendI really like the pink joint compound. it goes on pink and dry's white. For small jobs when you don't want to wait or guess it lets you know when it's time to sand. Also my can get the cover off and on that's a big plus for me.

joint compound
Would RecommendThe compound went on smoothly, dried without shrinkage, sanded easily. Everything you expect from the larger tubs, but made for small jobs.
