Awful product

I have used Dap spackle before with no issues, so when I needed to patch a hole in the ceiling, I tried this. It is an awful, defective product. It never dried. Even when I let it sit overnight, and it turned fully white, it was still moist and crumbly. Don’t buy this. Buy an actual joint compound and save yourself the time and money. Dap should be ashamed to sell this.

I have never had an issue with bubbles in joint compound until I purchased this crap, which advertises that it reduces pinhole bubbles. Go figure.

Nice Product

Used this product for drywall repairs during room refurbishment. After reading the negative reviews, I wanted to share my experience. Bottom line up front: I love this product! After using 'hot' mud over mesh tape to repair settlement cracks, I used this for the skim/feathering coats. Adherence wasn't an issue and it went on smoothly. Dry time was fast, and I've experienced no issues covering the repairs with primer and latex paint.

Unsatisfactory

Product was fine.. service at Lowes in Pacoima was disgusting. Almost unbelievably bad. I didn't purchase the paint or sprayer for my project because of the horrible customer service from everyone who was working at Customer Service, the supervisor at the register paint department employees and the one employee i did speak to for help. Decided to take her lunch with another female employee instead of helping me. If you want to run a dating service out of Lowes then thats Pacoima lowes is the...

Gets the job done.

Good workable consistency and dries quickly.

Less dust floating, but clogs sandpaper.

- Goes on pink...dries white...Dries fast. - Floating dust is less...sanding dust is consistency of powdered sugar. - Quickly clogs sandpaper...spent as much time cleaning sandpaper as I did sanding drywall repairs.

Works well

Removed canister lights in popcorn ceiling. Used this to fill area on & around drywall filling canister holes. Went on easy (pink), spread easily, stuck well and dried (white) in timeframe as indicated on label. Primed, textured and painted with no issues. Highly recommend.

Worst Compound you can buy...listen to reviews

Ceiling project turned to disaster. Used Dap's regular red joint compound and finished with the Dap DryDex. Sanded, cleaned, dried, primed, and painted. An hour later, every joint where I used the DryDex had the paint bubbling off. Rest of the ceiling looks great. 2 weeks of work ruined because paint won't stick to this stuff. Run away and run fast from this stuff. Now I am on my ladder scraping paint off of my ceiling wondering how I am going to get paint to stick. Don't use it...just d...
