What Customers Are Saying
Customers praise the pink-to-white color-change feature for eliminating guesswork about drying time, and many highlight smooth application and low dust during sanding. Most report excellent results for small repairs and beginner projects, with several achieving professional finishes using thin coats. However, a substantial group reports serious adhesion problems, particularly when bedding joint tape, with tape failing to stick or peeling off. Many also experienced drying delays exceeding 24 hours and excessive shrinkage. Despite these drawbacks, most customers find the color-change feature invaluable for DIY work.

First of all I'm not a pro just DIY homeowner and is the first time using the product. Easy to use and the best of all the color change from wet to dry is the best atribute for the beginner. Given 5* the junction and the screws hole omce filled was easy to sand and macht it. My son said to me good job no junctions are seen perfect job. 👌

All taped seams lifted within 24 hours
Would Not RecommendI tried to save some time, and bought this DAP premix. I followed the instructions on the tub. After embedding tape on an entire room, I let the product dry overnight. In the morning EVERY.SINGLE.SEAM completely lifted on both edges of tape. Climate controlled room, at 73 degrees F. I can't believe they can even sell this junk, an entire weekend lost for me. Do yourself a favor, and mix your own joint compound, this stuff just doesn't work for taped seams.
Spackling
Would Not RecommendThis stuff is more of a spackling. It doesn’t work well on sheet rock. If you are finishing sheet rock don’t buy this product. Trying to thin doesn’t work. I’ve wasted my time and money trying use trying to use this stuff. Now I’m out $21.00 and change.

Horrible
Would Not RecommendI bought this to fill some small screw holes and very small patch areas. I put a nice layer over the screw holes and this stuff shrinks so much it leaves a divot right where the hole is. Not a very large deep hole at all. Should easily fill and hide the hole. This stuff is horrible. Do not recommend.

Worst drywall compound I have ever used
Would Not RecommendDo not but this product. I had to repair a 4 foot area of dry wall. When i applied each coat, the product bubbled creating pock marks in the finish. After drying for 72 hours, I started to apply paint, the compound started peeling.

Finicky
Would Not RecommendWhile it’s reasonably easy to work with while applying, it’s very finicky afterward. If it gets moist at all, it starts to pull up. This first for subsequent coats or priming. You have to be very conscience about applying in very thin coats and work quickly enough before the previous coat starts to soften. This happened even after the previous coat had been primed.

I'm a first time user and had great results!
Would RecommendI wasn't even familiar with joint compound. I knew it as "mud, " and this was my first try at it. When I sanded my guest bathroom walls, I discovered several layers of old wallpaper. This was my first time using joint compound, and I think it worked great. I did use a sealer before and after because of the wallpaper and damaged drywall.

Tape won’t adhere
Would Not RecommendWon’t adhere to the wall with tape despite having product between the tape in the wall. Going to have to restart this project and get the actual joint compound I should’ve gotten to begin with. This might be good for little small holes but if you’re going to use joint tape, I would not recommend this product at all. Has been a waste of my time.

great stuff
Would Recommendive used several containers of this product without an issue, proper surface prep, and being sure not to apply too thick. i have had 100% great results, and i use it in an industrial setting where it really counts that you can not see the difference in area once painted. i would recommend and continue using this product, last use and purchase was today.
No good
Would Not RecommendToo thick. Not mixed up well. Not easy to work with at all. Needed to add water to get through a small job and never will buy again. Shrunk too much.

Great for quick and fast repairs
Would RecommendGood compound for quick patches and the color changing helps identify when you're ready for next coats or to paint. Only wish it were a little thicker as when patching a larger hole it did run down and out slightly, leaving a bit of a glob of mud. Was able to easily scrape off excess and finish out patch with no issues.
