Powerful Weedeater

I've had a version of this weedeaater for years. I had it when it had the electric starter that you would put on the end of the weedeater to start it. I love that but the starter didn't last long. It is very powerful but heavy. I got use to the weight. It gets tough jobs done.

nothing but problems

I've had this weed eater for about 2 months and it continues to mess up. Lowe's won't take it back because it's be used and good luck with the warranty. Its not worth $20 when you stop every few minutes to fix the head or have to let it cool down.

Horrible product

This string trimmer had a insanely hard head to be able to put string in it wasn’t close to a quick feed head as it said it had your better off going to a dealer and get a real string trimmer

Almost Broke right out of the box.

I have had this trimmer for a year, I have had nothing but problems. Screws laying in the box when I got it. The shaft never stays straight. Had to get replacement bolts to keep the engine attached. Now it runs for maybe 5 minutes and shuts off, only starts back up if I take air filter out.

Broke the first time I use it. Cutter head got hot, melted and just spins. Contacted the Craftsman line , they responded, said they sent it to MTD and they would contact me. Been 10 days now and no one has contacted me. The Lowes by me didn't even have a Craftsman head I could buy.. I am not thrilled. It starts and runs great, just can't cut grass..

This is number three

This is my third craftsman edger, the other two lasted over 15yrs. I like the idea of not mixing oil with the gas. I have all the attachments for the edger. It is a great product.

Bought twice in a month and both were defective. One leaking like crazy and the other couldnt hold the string without popping out the cheap plastic.

Several screws on the motor were loose from the factory. The major ones being the two that hold the shaft and the motor together. First three minutes of use the motor separated from the rest of the Weedwhacker. In that same moment, I guess the torque shattered the head. I tried contacting Lowe’s first about the warranty and I was still within my 90 days. They told me to contact craftsman about the warranty. Weed Eater

I used the weed eater heavily for 10 months and had several issues. The cutting head failed, and I was unable to get a Craftsman replacement. Recently, the engine would not go above half power. I will try to send it in under warranty, but I don't have much hope. I will say that the bush cutter worked as expected

'Not Your Dad's Craftsman'

Bought this model to replace the one that I had bought 3+ years ago that preformed well. (Pull string broke and was told that would cost almost as much to repair as to purchase a new one.) Not Great

Very flimsy weed eater, motor doesn't run smooth and the bump head didn't work. I owned this for 1 week, used it for 30 minutes and returned it. No wonder it was such a good deal.

Good power But it’s heavy

This second one I bought in five years, the first one the head on it quit spinning while trimming grass, so like a dummy I bought another one now after two years he’s doing the same exact thing and I can seem to get no one to help

Not the old Craftsman workmanship

I purchased my Craftsman WS4200 weed eater in 2023 and have only used it about once a week during the spring and summer. I take good care of my equipment, so I was very surprised when it failed. worthless

I usually have pretty good luck with products that are rated poorly because a lot of time it's operator error. this was an exception, this would barely run right out of the box. so I tuned it up and got it running good, for a couple of weeks. after I had to tune it again while still 'brand new' I thought I'd return it and try something else.
