Overall it started up after a few tries runs kind of high on the rpm wrenches didn't fit the bolts snuggley causing them to want to strip bolts extremely loud. Hard to start in cold weather.

Falls apart

This is the 2nd. one I've purchased during the past 6 months. First one: Choke lever broke and it's impossible to fix. Pull string also frayed real bad. Second one: Pull string broke completely.. used parts from the first one to rig it up. Now it is leaking something and will not start. Do not recommend and will not buy this model again!

Don't buy power equipment from Lowes

I bought a portable generator from Lowes and when I got home, I took it out of the box, added oil and gasoline but it wouldn't start. After quite a while I managed to get it started but it would only stay running with the choke on and when I added any load it would stall. When I tried to exchange it I was told that since I took it out of the box, I could not return it and would need to go through craftsman and get it fixed with the manufactures warrantee. Nothing but trouble

I purchased the generator before an upcoming storm. The delivery was delayed and the storm hit 5 days with no power. I put it together and tried to start it, but it wouldn't start. I finally got it going, but it surged as it ran. Then it shut off. Contacted Lowes, but no help they wouldn't stand behind the product, despite being less than 30 days' purchase. Also false advertising in the specs they say 120/220V but in reality, it's only a 120volt, so be careful.

Broke after second pull

After unboxing, adding motor oil and gas tried starting it and the pull rope wouldn’t retract after second pull. Lowe’s wouldn’t do anything and said I needed to contact craftsman.

Easy start and 14 hour run time on 5 gallons gas!

Easy assembly, came with engine oil and funnel to fill.

Would recommend but be AWARE

I bought this with the intentions of making my whole panel work. Come to find out because I only looked at the specifications saying it does use L14-30R BUT IT INFACT DOESNT ITS A L5-30R and only puts out 120v but I still was able to make half my panel work. And I only recommend having a licensed electrician do it which I am. Just wanted to say the specs aren’t accurate but it still puts out good power to power all my simple circuits with all gas appliances mainly.

Let it run awhile first.

What I liked; it was in stock, associate went out of their way to assist me, easy to put together and operate. What I didn't like; it was faulty from the manufacturer because the CO2 sensor was bad and I had to return it the following day. Still ended up with a flooded basement.

Good portable generator

Power out in Central Indiana and don't know when it will be back on, so rushed out and bought it yesterday. Only 3650 watts so if you have lots of things that use electricity and a big family, I would recommend a more powerful one. Works fine for me and I can hook my fridge, a couple of fans, my microwave, coffee maker, phone charger, etc. Good price, not much assembly required and the tools you need even come with it. Just add the oil and gas, fire it up, and it's ready to go. Working good...
