What Customers Are Saying
The tape measure is generally well-received, with customers praising its durable construction, easy-to-read numbers, and convenient auto-lock feature. The tape's ability to extend and stay in place is appreciated for solo measuring tasks. However, some users have experienced issues with the auto-lock function, reporting unreliable performance, especially when measuring vertically or at full extension. The tape may also retract too quickly and forcefully. Overall, the tape measure is a high-quality and durable tool, but the auto-lock feature may not function perfectly in all situations.

Craftsman loyal for 50 years.
Helpful
Sturdy, yet flexible. High quality measuring tool helped me to single-handedly measure the width of my garage door and garage door replacement seal without slicing me and without flip-flopping around.
Milwaukee self locking measurement worth the money
Would Not RecommendI bought it about a month ago and have only used it a couple times. The self lock has already quit working. I prob can’t return it because I’ve used it maybe 3 or 4 times. I don’t even work in construction. I’m a designer. Not happy with this.
Durable
Would RecommendWorks great, durable
High quality item
Would RecommendLove the auto lock feature. The product is bulkier than expected.
Doesn’t work
Would Not RecommendThe lock isn’t strong enough to hold or the rewind spring is too strong. I pull the end out and let go but instead of it holding it rewinds immediately. This particular tape may be defective. I plan to return to Lowe’s when I have to go for something else.

It has an automatic stop when measuring.
Would RecommendWe always like Craftsman.
Don’t pull it all the way out.
Would Not RecommendExtended it all the way out to 25 feet and it would not retract. Exchanged it for another one. Hopefully it was a defective fluke.
Numbers are good size - easy to read
Would RecommendMy favorite feature about this tape measure is how big the numbers and marking are for easy measurement recognition. It slides in and out smoothly and it locks easily. Great size and trusted brand.
