What Customers Are Saying
The Craftsman V20 cordless string trimmer is a lightweight and maneuverable tool suitable for basic yard maintenance tasks. It performs well for light trimming and edging, though may struggle with thicker weeds or overgrown areas. The automatic line feed feature is convenient, but some users reported issues over time. Battery life is the main limitation, typically lasting 15-30 minutes on a full charge of the included 2Ah battery. This trimmer is a good value for homeowners with small to medium-sized properties who need a cordless option for light-duty yard work, though those with larger or more heavily overgrown yards may require a more powerful model.

Runs For 3 Seconds and Stops - Repeat
Would Not RecommendI bought this on sale in January 2026 when it was on sale for $30 and I tried using it for the first time today. It will run for at most 3 seconds before it quits. The battery is fully charged and it makes no difference if it's set for Hi or Low speed. I see why it was so cheap now, Lowe's charged me $30 just to get it out of their store.

Easy to operate.
Would Not RecommendExactly what I was looking for. I have a gas powered weed trimmer that is just too heavy. This is lighter and much easier to operate with the auto feed line.

Battery Charger is not What's Pictured on Site
I am a long time Lowe's customer who has been purchasing and using Craftsman tools for many years. I purchased this string trimmer to replace a corded one I bought 25 yrs ago. My favorite feature of the older one (and also the new one) is the "twist and edge". I like the edge my driveway, walks and landscaping. I'm looking forward to not having to use electric cords. I was disappointed when I opened the box to find that the charger in the box, is not the one that is pictured on the site/item des...

Buy a second battery
Would RecommendI love how light the weed eater is. I have a bad back and neck so the others hurt, but this one seems to be just the right weight.
