What Customers Are Saying
Customers appreciate the sealed packaging and convenient transport with reduced mess compared to loose bales, and many praise its cleanliness. However, significant concerns emerge around contamination—reviewers frequently report sticks, pine cones, leaves, dirt, and sand embedded in bales, falling short of the advertised 99% stick-free claim. Coverage also disappoints some, who find one compressed bag does not equal two traditional bales as claimed. Despite these drawbacks, most customers value the convenience and cleaner appearance enough to recommend it, though quality consistency remains inconsistent.

Would Not RecommendDecent straw but I was not 1% or less sticks and debris. The packages were filled with Probably 10% sticks. Won’t buy again

Lost Delivery Item
Would Not RecommendLowe’s delivery service is absolutely awful! I’ve lost nearly $90 for an item they have delivered to me in their system but I never received it. I’ve been given the run around for nearly 2 hours on the phone to no resolve. I will never order from their online service again. Now, I have to go to the store and spend money I’ve already spent to complete my yard project.

Purchased in Georgia May 2026
Would RecommendI purchased 7 bags to cover 375 square feet of space. It was exactly enough but I’ll buy one more bag to add a touch more depth in a handful of spots. I bought these 7 bags from the Newnan, GA location. They were dry and had been well maintained by Lowe’s. I found the pine straw very clean and contained very little “debris”. The price at Lowe’s was 20-30% lower than local competitors. I, a female, was easily able to pick up and carry all the bags. I also installed these 7 bags all by myself.

Solid
Would RecommendBuy it all the time. Pricier than traditional bales but you do get a good amount of straw and you usually do not get the garbage like cones or sticks.

Failed to meet expectations
Would Not RecommendWas supposed to cover twice the area of regular bales with fewer sticks at twice the cost. Purchased because of package. Did not cover twice the area. Contained lots of sticks. When it did not cover my area, purchased additional string tied bales at half the cost, similar coverage and similar sticks.

Not Perfect, But Met Requirements
Would RecommendI can see what some reviewers meant when they said the contents weren't exactly "clean." I did find sticks and pine cones in several of the bags. However, 90-95% of the bags were quality pinestraw. Do I think it was a bit overpriced? Yes. Was it still worth it to order 10 bags and complete my landscaping all on my own without paying someone? Yes. I'll probably buy more next year.
