What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise these electrical boxes for straightforward installation in retrofit and old-work applications, with many highlighting the winged swing tabs that grip drywall securely. Reviewers consistently describe them as sturdy and well-built, with extra depth that accommodates dimmers and larger devices. Most find them reliable and say they'd buy again. A small group reports issues with the tightening mechanism, noting swing tabs can bind or strip screw heads, and a few mention inconsistent quality between units. Overall, customers strongly recommend them for renovation projects.

Would Not RecommendThese boxes have complex and difficult hole cutouts. The locking tabs and screws are extremely hard to use and broke on several of the boxes I bought. Poor quality control on the molding process forced me to trim the excess plastic off for a proper fit of the switch plate.

Just not good
Would Not RecommendHoles in ears/tabs are undersize. Trying to tighten them either twists up the tab, hogs out the head or shears the screw. Hated to stop work and waste my afternoon returning them, so I removed each tab and drilled each one out to 9/64 and reinstalled them to make them work. Also hard not to butcher the wall with all the nooks and crannies in the outline of the box. Had to do this on the one-gang, two and 3-gang boxes from this manufacturer. Won't be buying these again.
Do Not Buy
Would Not RecommendThese boxes are not usable as supplied. The holes for the adjusting tab screws are too small for the screws. I was not able to tighten the screws either manually or with a power driver. I tried to drive the screws in and out repeatedly but only succeeded in mangling the screw head. I took the screw and tab off the box and tried to tighten it but was unsuccessful. The only way to tighten the screw is to find a drill bit that is the right size and route out the inside of the screw hole. My g...

Extra depth good for dimmers
The extra three-quarter inch deep box over a standard double wide gang box depth gave me the extra room I needed to fit in two dimmer switches. Easy to install in an existing wall.

Not really for old work
Would Not RecommendI'll undoubtedly have to replace this box, because there are no clamps on the box. The tabs won't fit through an old work hole, and the two screws that hold it to the studs are inadequate for a three-gang box. The best thing I can say is that it has a high-voltage low-voltage divider, but if the box won't stay in the wall, what's the use?
