Cafe Symbol

I just received my new GE CAFE refrigerator and the cafe symbol on the freezer door handle is damaged. Some of the color is off.

Overall this will be a suitable unit. I am perplexed on the approach GE has taken with the wrapping of this unit. It is virtually impossible to remove the protective film and this creates an aesthetic that doesn’t match the brand promise and basic customer expectations. This was something that has been very frustrating and event the company we purchased it from stated it is a known issue that Cafe and GE don’t seem to have any interest solving.

Not a great start to ownership

Not thrilled as the freezer drawer seems to be out of alignment. We also have frost on the freezer door.

Refrigerator hums when the compressor is running. in addition, we were not aware that the sides of the refrigerator are not white, but gray.

Fails often.

Fails often. Requires manual defrosting. Many of the fans had to be replaced. The fault codes and test feature is awesome though. But a regular customer should not have to deal with such troubleshooting issues

Attractive and spacious

More spacious than I thought it would be, especially compared to our old side by side. The brushed stainless doesn’t hold fingerprints and is very attractive with our dark wood cabinets. I do wish the doors opened a little bit wider to remove bulky things.

Nice looking

Nice looking unit. Burns through water filters pretty fast and they’re quite expensive. Ice maker is really small and the freezer baskets squeal when you roll them. But-after 9 months of owning it-the unit still runs well.

Installation Process Lacking

Delivery was a disaster. Door came damaged with a promise of replacement but no info of how or when. No user manual provided so I'm clueless how to make it work. In spite of premeasuring it doesn't really fit in the space. All communications are on-line with no human contact except with delivery subcontractors. Really taking the shine off of what I thought was going to make my kitchen look special! And I still haven't a clue about the door or when I'll get the dishwasher that came damaged an...

Happy with our purchase!

The refrigerator is gorgeous and I love the upgrade to the handles to black. The video display is also an nice added touch. Seems to make ice frequently and keeps up with demand but definitely not enough if you needed some for a cooler or party. The bin that holds the ice is pretty small. We like the adjustable shelves and has adequate space for both the fridge and the freezer. Haven't used the hot water feature yet because I keep forgetting about it!

Love the Cafe Fridge, tho not as much as our first

We liked the first Cafe fridge so much that we bought another one here. But not as satisfied with this one. Freezer door sometimes doesn't close immediately; had to personally make adjustments and still not 100%. Definitely don't like the new design that has the top drawer of the freezer section running on the edge of the bottom drawer. It squeaks all the time, and we'd rather the top drawer stay back, in the 'unopened' position unless we pull it out (as it was on our first Cafe). All that said,...

Beautiful, stylish & has an ICE MAKER!!!

MY FIRST REFRIGERATOR WITH AN ICE MAKER!!! This is a big deal for us and we wanted a refrigerator that was stylish, and a bit smaller than what we had. This is a perfect option for us - counter depth, stainless steel, the CAFE brand, and an ICE MAKER!! We are so excited! I haven't used the hot water option yet, but I will when cold season comes around for tea! Love all the features and couldn't be happier with the purchase - of course, it's new - so we are hoping that this refrigerator last...

I love the way it looks. But the freezer doesn’t close very well at times.

Cafe fridge review

LED lights are very nice. good looking fridge. Good amount of space with designated shelves. Plastic pieces are not as sturdy for price, and doors require significant amount of pressure to close. "precise fill" is misleading, you have to say what amount of mL you want, it doesn't just precisely fill to whatever cup you place there.

Great fridge/freezer

Plenty of space for a family of six, great water/ice dispenser, quiet, eco friendly, just love it.
