What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise this spreader for its ease of use, time-saving performance, and solid construction. Most highlight how the tow-behind design dramatically reduces effort compared to push models, allowing seated operation and efficient coverage of large lawns and slopes in under 30 minutes. Reviewers consistently note straightforward assembly, high-quality materials, and sturdy construction. Performance delivers even, consistent coverage with accurate calibration and directional control to prevent waste. A few mention minor design frustrations—control handle too short, agitator prone to clumping, and occasional flow control issues—but frame these as fixable annoyances. Overall, most customers consider it a worthwhile investment.

Would Not RecommendI bought this spreader and after assembling it I found out Brinly didn’t send me the correct hardware to finish the assembly. Without these essential hardware the spreader is basically useless. The hardware was the clevis that attaches to the drawbar to make it towable. Handle stop was the other hardware not included with my purchase.

Incomplete instructions-
Would Not RecommendWe bought this spreader yesterday and have done nothing but struggle to get it together due to a couple of key details being left out of the instructions and the video. It doesn’t show you which side things go on which direction to point certain parts and when assembled, there’s no help to figure out how to keep the gate open. When you set the setting and then drive off the lever keeps falling backwards and closing the gate.

Nice product not easy to use...
Would Not RecommendLike Brinley products in general and like this spreader in terms of working. Major problem when towing behind a tractor, etc. There is no easy way to reach the handle when you stop or start, letting product pour out onto the ground. In addition have been unable to get the handle to stay in place. Will continue to mess with it, but it needs a better system...

Performs Well and Easy Set-up
Would RecommendThe installation instructions were great. I got to use it for the first time when we got hit with 4" of wet lake effect snow. I used Morton Safe-T-Salt. I had to stop and push the material towards the mouth of the hopper. I am thinking that a steeper slope on the hopper walls would help.

Pull behind spreader
Would Not RecommendAlthough the instructions were clear some of the installation instructions need to be revised to insure proper set up. As an example the pins do not fit through the plastic bushings with the holes in the bushing requiring a drill bit to widen. After using I noticed that the pull back stick goes back to closed after you hit any bumps, furthermore I could not get any grass seed to come out of the left side no matter where I placed the control mechanism.

Happy
Would RecommendOther than the assembly being a little hard to understand, the unit works perfectly and I'm happy with the product.

Uneven spread
Would Not RecommendIt does not apply the product evenly. Lays it down heavy in the center which leaves stripes in the lawn after a couple weeks

Easy assembly!
Would RecommendAfter years of using a push spreader I decided it was time for a pull behind. The hardware packaging should be a model for any other product that has to be assembled by the consumer! Excellent blister packaging and labels! No missing hardware. I built this in about 40 minutes and immediately dumped three bags of fertilizer in it and off I went. Nice for my hilly yard. Much easier than pushing the old spreader. I may add a bit to the handle like a broom handle cut down and zip tie to the bottom ...

125 lp tow behind spreader
I bought this unit about a month ago. It was fairly easy to put together, the nuts and bolts were put together in a plastic sleeve, so it was easy to find the right nut or bolt. I bought this for my lawn. I fertilized my whole yard in under 30 mins, normally with a push spreader it would take a little over an hour to do. If you have a garden tractor and have a lawn, I would recommend this.

Great Product
Would RecommendI haven’t used the spreader yet. The assembly was easy about 45 minutes I’m 76 years old so I don’t get in a hurry. Very well built appears to be quality materials and I’m sure it will perform well.

Great tow behind spreader
Would RecommendAssembly was a breeze using the manual and the video together. I’ve used it once so far. Works well. Cut my fertilizing my 3 quarter acre to a third of the time of the push broadcaster. It worked surprisingly well on a 20 degree grade that runs across my backyard. The only con is the hopper doesn’t completely empty, it needs to lean more to the front to get everything dispensed.

perfect for my needs
Would RecommendI bought this recently because the one I was using was very difficult to use behind my garden tractor. The new one I purchase has the extended handle which I purchased at the same time. It works perfectly behind my Cub Cadet garden tractor and I love it. I have always had good luck with Brinly and this is no exception. Thank you Brinly

Disappointed
Did research and this looked to be a good product. Assembly went well with the exception of attaching the guage plate to the spreader; instructions were vague there and I had to take off and reattach to get it right. Have used the spreader but the fan is hanging up and not spreading evenly. Also a tire went down so I added air and it leaked down again so took the wheel off and the tube is rotten. Tried to pull it out of the tire and it split apart; so I have been somewhat disappointed since t...

The Axle Gearbox Failed Early On
Would Not RecommendAfter the second use, the axle gearbox failed and I needed to return the spreader to the store I purchased it at. I am currently using the replacement one. It was a hassle to assemble the replacement unit.

Very decent product
Would RecommendBought this to sow green manure (peas and oats) on one hectare of land. did the job quickly and evenly. So easy to put together too, I have to compliment on the packaging as all the hardware was placed on a card for each step. I have kids and put together a lot of stuff, and this was about the level of a 10yo Lego set. only down side is the fun didn't long enough

Good Spreader
Would RecommendThe spreader is easy to assemble. It works well, but it has a couple of problems. I bought the model with the extension for the handle that controls flow rate. I understood that I should be able to reach the handle from the seat of my Cub Cadet RZT mower (a zero-turn with steering wheel). This is an impossibility. I plan to add a horizontal extension to allow this (although this may exacerbate the second problem I am about to mention). Also, the flow rate control knob is difficult to tighten ade...
