Grabbed one of these after I decided to last-minute DIY my TV install when my installer cancelled on me. Needed something large enough to run HDMI through a stone chimney. This did the job decently well, although it did tend to bind occasionally even though I kept the hole fairly clean. Did start with a 5/16 and then 3/8 prior to using the 1" and if I hadn't it would have been much harder to control the bit placement, but overall, did the job! I purchased this to bore through a 1914 built basement wall. It was a beast tearing through the field stone and mixed cement. After 2-10" holes it still looks new and works like the day it was bought.
