Black and Decker 20V Weed Eater

Bought the same weed eater years ago. Light weight and easy to adjust and use. Only issue is I ordered online and it arrived with a defective 20V battery according to red lights and the manual. Had back up because of previous buy so weeding on.

Good value, and lasts a long time,

No issues whatsoever. Been working fine for 5 years. Battery seems to take a little longer to charge now, but no complaints.

Hearty unit

Lawn and edge trimmer for 1/2 acre lot with 2 batteries. Held up very well for 8+ years. Had to do some repairs to the wheel bracket and forged ahead. Wheel attachment finally gave out after numerous repairs to strengthen where attached to the base of the unit. Will reinforce the new unit I bought today before using. Very pleased with this unit to weed whack 1/2 acre plus 11 gardens on the property.

Probably not for real heavy weed whacking.

Positive: Lightweight, 2-speed, easy to assemble and use, good battery life. Drawbacks: The string advance button does not always work. Doesn't extend as tall as the last Black and Decker we had.

Lack of durability

The safety/trigger release dies. I am lucky if I can get one to last a full season. There has to be a more durable solution to turning it on and off. It kills me to think of the garbage created when I have to throw out a string trimmer once a year all due to the failure of this one part. You can’t even get them repaired. Otherwise, I love this trimmer. I use it about four hours a week in the summer. I just want to find a more durable version of this product.

Worthless Instructions

Sheesh, people! Why must you make so flipping hard to SIMPLY find out what replacement spools I need to get for a LSTE522 / 523 / 525 20V Max Easyfeed Trimmer/Edger????? Your crap instructions that came with it FAIL to provide even a hint!!! Your crap details on this on-line page FAILs to provide a hint. PLEASE find the supervisory bright spot that thinks no one EVER, EVER, EVER might need such information, EVER - and find them some adult supervision!

This is my second year for this tool and can't seem to get is started nothing happens when you squeeze the switch. what is B & D going to do to rectify this?

Going Strong 8yrs later

Bought this trimmer 8 years ago and couldnt be happier. I knew it was plastic when I bought it so I didnt expect to be able to beat on it like an industrial tool. When I use the appropriate string for it, it works exactly as advertised. I am just now (eight years later) noticing that my batteries aren't holding a charge like they used to.

So good I bought it twice

Good weed eater. Not as much power as a gasoline one, but plenty for household use.

Great features and lightweight.

I have several of the Black and Decker cordless series tools.....low maintenance, lightweight and low noise. I made sure this unit has the reversible direction on the cutting head as well as the wheel so the edging process is available as well....i.e., for sidewalks and curbs. I love that feature. The handle height is easily adjustable to your liking. It's perfect for light home use. If you have rural property, acreage, etc., it's best to opt for a more powerful gas unit.

Easy to assemble, works great, gets the job done in a small yard, not too heavy to lift

The trimmer is good. the battery was not. I had a lot of trouble getting a replacement for it. I would never buy another thing from you because of this.
