Avoid at all costs

I made the mistake of buying this last year. Off and on, the battery would refuse to charge....charging light would blink green, but go back a short time later, and it would be rapidly blinking red. It would take several attempts to get the battery to charge. This year, the battery refuses to charge, period. Save yourself the headache, and buy something else.

Good but trimmer very short for 5’6 woman

Someone else mentioned in a review product short - well I am telling you I am 5’6 and I have to lend over to use. It feels like a kids toy ! But so far it seems to work well and feels like 1 pound - very light weight- I had bought a kobalt and returned as too long and holding down power buttons was a pain. I ordered black and decker online for pick up but i recommend going into store and trying other black and decker for proper length.

Five Stars for the Money and no More

1) A good trimmer for a well manicured residential yard. 2) I trimmed (2) average sized residential yards (52'x60') and battery not dead yet. 3) Not extremely powerful so easy to control for beginners. 4) Able to roll the wheel along foundation while grass trimming and use it as a height guide for consistency. 5) If your yard is weedy you won't like this trimmer. For $70.00 it works very well for me. I have a relatively weed-free lawn and it cuts through grass just fine.

We’ve had this little guy for about 5ish years. It’s been great for the smaller yards we’ve had. (We move a lot) while living at our house with a little over a half acre this thing couldn’t keep up with weed whacking even with 2 batteries. We were always charging them. Now, we moved again, to a tiny yard 1/4 acre and either the batteries are completely un-rechargeable or the actual machine is just done. So now we need a new one. Works but

Not a bad weed eater but only has one string so everything takes so much longer. Wish I had looked around a little more.

Don’t waste your money!

Auto feed doesn’t work. Battery life is disappointing. Weak motor. A huge mistake.

Solid for Small to Medium Jobs

Bought this as a package deal with the drill, I believe. It was pretty good with one battery, but our yard has a fence which makes it a bit more work, and we have a fairly big lot, so we needed an extra battery to make it practical. Once we got another battery it was perfect for our yard. And it shrinks down small enough for my 6-year-old to use.

Automatic line Feed isn't Automatic

Bought this at Lowes a month ago - returned it today. Lowe's was good about refunding my money. The auto-line feed doesn't work - I tried a new spool of line, contacting Black and Decker etc etc and couldn't get it to work. I liked everything else about the trimmer but tired of having to stop and manually advance the line. Would not recommend this product.

Worst trimmer I have ever had

This is my second B&D trimmer. The first one lasted a long time but eventually I had feed issues with the spooler so I bought a battery operated one. It lasted maybe through the spool provided until I had the same issues as others where the autofeed doesn't work. I always have to pull the string out manually. Now the button to press to get it started won't work. I have other B&D tools so I know the battery is fine. Don't buy this. Look at other products.

not what it said it was

The information we found on it said it came with a battery and charger, but when we opened it an hour ago, there was neither one. We did get a free battery, but no charger, so it's pretty useless. Being desperate, and quarantined, my trimming has not been happening, and the weeds have grown next to our house and fencing, I went out to use it, thinking there would be a charge in the battery, but alas, there was 5 minutes, and that was it. WHAT A PIECE OF JUNK

Bought yesterday. Doesn't work today. Works for a min then dies over and over until it wont even come on at all. Can't even cut a foot of grass. EXTREMELY UPSET I WASTED MY HARD EARNED MONEY ON THIS JUNK. BUYERS BEWARE.

Doesn't Advance Line

I used this once. Out of the box the line was 3" long, the maximum to fit inside the line cover. As is always the case the end of the line broke off a little at a time as I used it. It got down to a 2" length. Like any other trimmer I have owned, including my recent dual line .080 string diameter machine, it simply doesn't work at such a short length. This mach in supposed to "sense" the need for additional line, i.e. it is not a bump machine or an automatic line feed machine that advances ...

Disappointed with it's ability to trim. This could barely cut through grass. I'm not talking weeds and thick tall stuff. I'll be returning it today.

Battery Sucks

Love the actual machine itself . But the battery life sucks. It is nearly impossible to finish a small yard with this . The battery goes out in 15 min or less. If I hadn’t had another battery from a different black&Decker product I would have never gotten the job done.
