Weak weed trimmer

This weed trimmer is so under powered it would beat the weeds over not cut them. I returned it after using it one time. And purchased the next one up.

Not for tall people

This is a great tool that does what is promised except for one. It advertised that the shaft is adjustable. They forgot to add that it is adjustable for users from about 5' to 5'7" I am six foot three and to use the tool I have to bend down. This hurts my back. Tall people have to be careful to stand properly. This is not the first Black and Decker tool that is built for short people. I have a B&D lawn mower with an adjustable handle, but not enough for a tall person. What would it take ...

Worst Trimmer Ever

I bought this trimmer based on my great experience with my previous Black and Decker trimmer that finally died. This trimmer is so slow and does not move fast enough to complete even the simplest of edging. I personally never write reviews however this trimmer was so bad I wanted to ensure that I put my opinion out there to desuade anyone from wasting their money on this product.

A Disappointment

I purchased this a few weeks ago from my local Lowe's store, and was super excited about the price and the fact that it was battery operated. I got home, charged it up, and when I used it the first time I thought that maybe I didn't charge it long enough because it was rather weak and it died within 15 minutes of using it. I put the battery back on the charger and let it run for a full day to ensure it was charged ALL the way up for next time. Well, next time came and sure enough the battery ...

Very Light & Does The Job

Yes, I'd like a little more power, but this definitely gets the job done. And the 20v battery is nice and light compared to a 40v. I have a small yard, and this is perfect for the minor trimming I do.

Best little Trimmer

I am 60 years old and have a small patch of grass just for my dogs. I had a Trimmer that was old and bulky. This is the most compact and light weight trimmer, and best of all no cords!! It trims my grass perfect!!

The trimmer is cheaply made and the automatic string advance didn't work

Easy to handle BUT POOR BATTERY LIFE

I purchased mine a couple of weeks ago and thought that when I first used it that I simply didn’t charge the battery long enough but then the second go round, I charged it fully and the battery still only lasted me about 15ish minutes. I’m not happy at all as it certainly makes yardwork much more laborious than it already is.

Never worked properly

I purchased this trimmer a little over a year ago. The string never correctly, automatically fed, leaving me to remove the cap several times to manually adjust. And oddly, the last two times I tried to unlock the trimmer to edge, it was nearly impossible to turn. Finally, it absolutely would not budge at all! Surely this was one that was defective, however, I am really disappointed. My last B & D trimmer lasted several years.

3rd Time’s NOT a Charm

After 2 Black & Decker Hedgehog trimmers that disappointed me, one “bump & feed” and the other an “auto feed” bothe of which ceased to feed at all, so I had to manually pull off the cap and pull out string each time....(lots of Not Fun on a hot summer day!), I decided to get the 20 volt, mainly because I had bought 2 packs of string line refills that were no longer returnable but compatible. Won’t last long

Bought and used successfully for about a year. Won’t work anymore. Didn’t use heavily, battery seems ok per the charger. Don’t expect it to last

The auto line feed is garbage.

I have to take string cover off and manually advance string 10-15 times doing my yard. You get what you pay for. Should have known better.

Figured out how to get auto-feed to work

After working on this for a few hours I finally discovered how to get mine to feed. The trick was to first pull the trigger all the way and get the head spinning freely full-speed then quickly put it in heavy grass or weeds so that it slows down considerably and then just as quickly pull it away so it speeds back up. Keep the trigger pulled all the way the entire time.

Very Light & Easy to use

I bought this a few months ago, since I had already had some B&D products that take the battery. I am so pleased I did. It def beats dragging my B&D corded around! You wont be disappointed!

Avoid at all costs

I made the mistake of buying this last year. Off and on, the battery would refuse to charge....charging light would blink green, but go back a short time later, and it would be rapidly blinking red. It would take several attempts to get the battery to charge. This year, the battery refuses to charge, period. Save yourself the headache, and buy something else.

Good but trimmer very short for 5’6 woman

Someone else mentioned in a review product short - well I am telling you I am 5’6 and I have to lend over to use. It feels like a kids toy ! But so far it seems to work well and feels like 1 pound - very light weight- I had bought a kobalt and returned as too long and holding down power buttons was a pain. I ordered black and decker online for pick up but i recommend going into store and trying other black and decker for proper length.

Five Stars for the Money and no More

1) A good trimmer for a well manicured residential yard. 2) I trimmed (2) average sized residential yards (52'x60') and battery not dead yet. 3) Not extremely powerful so easy to control for beginners. 4) Able to roll the wheel along foundation while grass trimming and use it as a height guide for consistency. 5) If your yard is weedy you won't like this trimmer. For $70.00 it works very well for me. I have a relatively weed-free lawn and it cuts through grass just fine.

Battery short life btw charges

Battery will not last to complete small yard
