What Customers Are Saying
The cordless circular saw is suitable for basic home projects like cutting 2x4s and 1x6s, with reviewers praising its lightweight, convenient design and quiet operation. However, it may struggle with more demanding applications, such as thicker or harder woods, and can drain the battery quickly. Some users recommend upgrading the included blade for better performance. Overall, the saw works well for simple, light-duty tasks, but may not meet the needs of experienced DIYers or professionals.
Customer review summary generated by AI, including incentivized reviews.I bought my saw from Menards. Used it for about 3 months cutting plywood and 2x4s. At first it was working just great. Then all of a sudden it just locked up and would not move the blade was stuck. I looked for some type of locking mechanism could not find it. So I was returned to Menards for refund. No need for response Black & Decker. I know you get what you pay for. Guess I'll go buy a DeWalt.
Excellent saw.
Would RecommendGreat saw for routine jobs around the house. Recommend using at least a 5.0 mah battery.

Great lightweight tool
Would RecommendI have the older version of this tool and have used it for many projects, including tree branches. I bought a Diablo thin kerf blade and it made HUGE difference in the power. Not as much drag, I guess. Now my Dad has it at his house and I can't seem to get it back. Going to just give in and buy myself a new one and order a Diablo blade.... I'll be back in business.
does what it should
Would RecommendI've used this saw for several fairly large projects and it works well. Just dont try to force it and you'll be fine. I used it to build an 8x12 building and several decks, framing, plywood, and PT lumber. I haven't used my corded skil saw since I got this one. The blade is average, but sufficient for most jobs.

NO PLYWOOD PERIOD
Would RecommendThis saw will cut any real wood or MDF product but it does not like plywood. I tried it with 2x4 and 2x6 it cut like butter. The angle bevel settings are bit iffy and I will have to keep working with it to see if it’s just operator error or another quirk. But it is otherwise a good saw for any REAL wood just not PLYWOOD

You Get What You Pay For
Would Not RecommendFeels cheaply put together and flimsy. Laser sight was off, right out of the box. Sometimes the cheapest option provides cheapest quality. I won't be buying this again.

FANTASTIC SAW.!! Light weight , perfect!!
Would RecommendI have used this saw for 3 years, cutting log siding, boards paneling and just now need a new blade. Should this one wear out, I will purchase a new battery operated skill saw again, by the way this was a gift for my husband with several other Blacker and Decker products in a gift set. The longer blade saw is perfect when have to cut up on the ladder, the screwdriver didn't last as long both batteries are still charging great.
Versatile
Would RecommendVery light weight. Comfortable handle position. Part of 20v, easy and quick battery swap between all v20 devices

Terrible
Would Not RecommendThis thing won't even cut through a 2"×2" piece of untreated pine. Don't waste your time or your money.

Great for what a 5 1/2 inch should be capable of.
Would RecommendBirthday present from my wife. I've used it ALOT and I feel like I've learned it's strengths and weaknesses. First off put a high quality blade on, second don't even waste your time with a 1.5 ah battery... Go at least 2.5, 4.0 if you can. Once you got that taken care of this little guy is great. I recently built a little feed barn on our farm and did all 8 ft wooden siding cuts and 2x4 cuts with this saw and it did just fine. If you encounter a knot on a harder wood type you will need to slow d...

Stop working after 1 year
Would Not RecommendNormal cutting of 1x4 and 2x4 for projects, took good care of it and stopped working 1 year later

Will not run
Would Not RecommendWill run for a few seconds and then stops. Battery is fully charged. The troubleshooting tips in the manual are useless. Basically a waste of money.

Only for light trim wood
Would Not RecommendNot my best purchase. Jig saw would have done the same job. Bought it to travel with and do odd and in jobs. Not sure how to make it better but deffinately not recommending this little guy.
