Ratings & Reviews for Backyard Discovery Sarasota 20-ft W x 10-ft L x 8-ft 2-in H Black Metal Freestanding Pergola with Canopy

Beautiful product

Why did i wait so long?

Very attractive pergola

We bought two of these and absolutely love how they look in our yard, and enjoy being able to open or close the louvers as desired. All parts arrived in excellent shape, and our contractor did not have any problems with the assembly (we're not the DIY types). The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that the built-in rain gutters are very shallow, and woefully inadequate during anything other than a very light rain. If it's really raining, the water either drips or pours down from the inside...

Beautiful, sturdy, and practical!

We have had our 14 x 10 Sarasota Pergola for almost a year now. It's been through rain, 80 mph windstorms, and a lot of sunshine, and we have been thrilled. If I could do it over again, I would have hired professional installers. Getting it put together is a two-man job, but securing it to the patio is a job for professionals, or people who really know their construction. I appreciated the clear marking of all the parts - that made assembly easier. the 14 x 10 size is ample for a 10 foot table. ...

Great addition to the backy

I love the look and quality of the pergola. This was new for the assemblers, they did a good job. This pergola stood firm through the hurricane season in FL and keeps the sun off of my family when needed.

Great Pregola

Purchased this Sarasota Steel pergola from Backyard Discovery to provide shade and protection for my Big Green Egg cooker. Works prefectly and keeps everything completely dry.

Product sells itself

A resort feel with a residential attainability. Modern, clean, sturdy. Easily assembled in a couple hours. Very happy with and highly recommended. Can also get behind the manufacturer’s eco sustainability.

Classy addition to backyard

I bought this to replace my gazebo that was destroyed by the hurricane. It is very nice and the louvers are cool. One word of caution during assembly: make sure you get the long beams set the right way. The instructions aren’t clear on that and we had to remove all the louvers and flip the beams over.

Perfect

I recently had a pergola and had it installed in my backyard, and I couldn't be happier with the results! The design is stunning, and it’s the perfect blend of style and functionality. It has transformed my outdoor space into a beautiful retreat, offering both shade and an open-air feel. The quality of the materials is top-notch, and the craftsmanship is exceptional. It was easy to maintain, and it holds up well against the elements. Whether for relaxing or entertaining guests, this pergola has ...

Looks amazing

I bought this about 8 months ago. It made it through hurricane season in SC without a problem.

Well-made and looks great!

We purchased a larger side version for one portion of our deck then purchased this smaller size to fit another portion of our deck. It's well made and had a sleek look to it. We hired a handyman to assemble and bolt to our deck. We like being able to open and close the slats on top. Very easy to use and provides total coverage when it rains. The drainage system works well. We sometimes get high winds where we live but have had no issues with structural integrity.

Nice design!

I looked for a long time before deciding on this product. The price was good and it didn't disappoint. We hired a handyman service to assemble and bolt to our deck. It's a sleek design, and we love that it has the drainage system and the option to have the slats open or closed. Provides great shade and even allows my husband to grill when it's raining! They're very sturdy. We get strong winds where we live and we've had no issues with the structural integrity. We liked this so much that we bough...

Superior Pergola Structure

Purchased Summer 2024 & was the best gift I gave myself! The quality, modern style and features of this Pergola makes it an excellent investment for backyard enjoyment. Experienced a smooth assembly and installation.

Great features and easy to use.

We love the pergola. So easy to use and enjoy when there light rain we can sit underneath to stay dry. Had a third party assemble for use as this is a two person job as the pergola is very heavy.

Great

After considerable research we settled on the Sarasota and are very pleased with the choice. It is solid and well made and doesn't leak in the rain. A great value.

Easy and beautiful

I am so happy with this pergola. It was easy to put up, and had held up wonderfully. It completely changed our backyard.

Super Simple DIY Space Changer

So happy invested in the Sarasota Took two of us do, just follow the instructions take your time. We enjoy the space that literally transforms our hot sun beaten area to a comfortable outdoor living environment. Game Changer for us I would totally recommend.

Gorgeous, quality!

Team was very personable and helpful getting the item to me, good communication. My husband and I put this together ourselves (would recommend more people) but it was manageable! It is gorgeous. Quality. Makes my backyard feel cozy like a home, not just a slab of concrete. My dogs love it. I love opening/closing for sun/shade. Every one who comes over asks for a link so they can get one.

Solid weii-designed pergola

We bought this pergola a few months ago and love it! We installed party lights and it is now a delightful focal point of our yard. We already have 2 wooden gazebos in our yard and are ver happy that we now have a steel pergola that will not need any upkeep.

Great Pergola

This was definitely not a single person project, needed about 3-4 people to help build this pergola. We were able to complete the build in 1 days and it turned out great! We look how it came out and it does feel like it’s last strong winds (main reason we purchased it)

Love the design, but some flaws...

Am a former heavy truck/bus, now train mechanic, so I know my way around assembling stuff. This wasn't bad. However I did noticed several things, it's supposedly powder coated but I noticed a tiny paint chip on one of the pieces. Pretty insignificant, I just hoped it really is galvanized and doesn't rust on that spot. Additionally one of the shorter top beams had a bunch of dents in the middle. It's not too noticable ones the roof is closed, but when it's opened looks like Rocky Balboa used it f...
