Would RecommendMy Zoeller M53 sump pump has a 9ft vertical rise from the bottom of the pump hole. You'll need one of these Zoeller check valves to keep the water from filling up the hole after the pump shuts off. This thing does its job and does it very well. I would recommend this valve to everyone!

double check your installation
Would Recommendthe first time I put this guy on my sump pump assembly, I didn't tighten the hose clamps in the correct location. The thing flew apart during operation and soaked my crawlspace. Be sure the hose clamps are positioned as shown in the last diagram on the item listing here and tighten them down well.
