I like that this item was in your store, But it’s ashame that it has to be purchased to fix a water heater that lowes sells to make it work properly after only a few months after purchase. Especially when the warranty service can’t detect or properly repair the issue, And the customer has to figure and purchase the problem themselves. Stay away from A. O. Smith water heaters,

Works but slow

I question how energy efficient this item is. I set a timer for 30 minutes. Water was hot but not hot enough to switch control to the lower thermostat.

Thermostat doesn’t fit

Elements are great but the thermostats not so much. One lug on the thermostat are built just different enough to not fit, wire will not reach. Found out after talking to friends that this was their experience also. Take your thermostat with you and match it up

Check original,wattage,voltage, braker compatible

It works as original. I couldn't find a 3500w 208v, i guess they are discontinued. So i bought this ones 4500w 240v. According to Google assistant is compatible with my AO-smith water heater, specially since my water heater breaker is 30amp. I highly recommend you change both, since the other one might be corroded and getting ready to give up aswell. Don't forget to get the special tool required to remove them. It's been 2 weeks and running great. No overheating wires or malfunctions for me.

Bought a hot water tank from Lowes and the original elements didn’t make it 6 months so replaced with these , hopefully they last

I purchased a new 50 gal electric water heater only to find out that one of the thermostats and heating elements were faulty at install. The cost for one thermosstat and one element was the same price as this kit so I decided to replace both at the same time. I was very pleased with value. These are working as designed! Inexpensive fix!

Seemingly Good Quality

I *thought* I had a bad element or thermostat but didn’t have an ohmmeter. I only wanted to make one trip so I went ahead and bought this kit along with an ohmmeter. Turns out, neither the elements nor thermostats were bad so I returned the kit unopened. I can say that the parts within this kit looked EXACTLY like the parts in my A.O. Price water heater. I have full confidence they would have been adequate for a repair of that nature.
