this element is the second or third one purchased for the A0 Smith water heater that only lasted 9 months. I made the mistake of purchasing such a cheaply made water heater. although they warranted and replaced the water heater. this element is not the exact match from what originally comes with the heater. Stay away from this element as well as AO Smith water heaters.

This hot water tank element worked just as expected in my tank.

I love the fact that my Lowes had two of these in stock. For whatever reason, both shorted out at the same time. The replacements were a perfect fit!

Easy

Hardest part was cleaning out the hardened limestone that came off the heating element. FYI if you install a new water heater make sure you point the access to the heating element where you can get straight at it. I use a shop vac. and a small piece of pipe to suck out the hardened limestone from the bottom of the tank.

The price was fair for the product.

Why Didn't Anyone Know What One to Buy.

The product was fine, 5 stars. However, getting help to find which heating element I needed was a nightmare, 0 stars. I had the item, model etc. but no one in the store could give me a definitive answer. I eventually had to buy both and bring the one I didn't need back. What a waste of my time!!
