Would Not RecommendThe gasket was to big and wouldn't line up and leaked !! Had to buy another one and drain 80 gal tank to replace Very DISAPPOINTED Lost a lot of time and water

It sounds like the gasket was binding as the element was tightened.
Using mild dish soap as a lubricant on the gasket will help prevent binding...
