It works, but a bit flimsy
A great device for long cords of Christmas lights!
Would RecommendI have used a product like this before for extension cords. In this instance, I used this product to wrap a long line of outside Christmas lights. The black plastic inside the wheel provides a solid place to put your hand while winding and the handle allows you to control the speed of winding so you can go as fast or as slow as you are comfortable. Thanks to this, the light string is now safely stored away. Cannot recommend enough

Ergonomically unsatisfactory
Would Not RecommendI;ve had several of these types of wire reels over the decades. This one has a grip that is uncomfortably wide to hold while winding. I'll be looking to replace it soon.

Would Not RecommendBought to replace a similar item that I have had for several years. This is much lighter construction and doesn’t hold as much cord as the older model which I believe that I bought at Lowe’s also.
