Would RecommendHalogen lamps put out a lot of heat which was perfect for keeping the frost off my outdoor plants. It's as basic as they come - doesn't even have an on/off switch, just plug in directly. But, the cost was one-third of the next suitable option so no complaints!

Would Not RecommendThe cage in front of the light leads to dark spots in the light throw. Suitable for cheap outdoor use, but as previously noted, it gets very hot very quick. I would recommend getting better lighting for painting and interior projects. When I opened the box at home, it only had the bulb in the unit, and didn't work. I had to open the housing and reseat the bulb. For the price, it's about what I would expect.
