What Customers Are Saying
The product offers a bright, wide-coverage motion-activated light that is easy to install. However, some customers have reported issues with the light failing or not functioning as expected after a few months of use. There are also concerns about the overall durability and quality of the product. While it may be a budget-friendly option, the potential reliability and performance problems should be considered.

Would Not RecommendThe light worked for about a month then quit. For the short time it did "work", the motion sensor only worked intermittently and if you jumped up and down or waved your arms right in front of it. All Utilitech products are low quality and won't last long.
Only lasted 1 year
LED bulbs are not replaceable and only lasted 1 year.

Poor quality and poor customer service
Would Not RecommendI bought two of these lights in November of 2019. One of them only lasted until October 2020. The light started a random strobe light effect. I had the warranty paperwork but I didn't think to keep the receipt. Called the manufacturer who quickly transferred me to Lowe's customer service who transferred me to Lowe's repair service. Without the receipt no one would honor the warranty or help out with the problem.
Do not buy!
Would Not RecommendThis light was easy to install for sure. However that's where the good news ends. This light is located 14 feet in the air on the side of my house. Can not fine tune the sensitivity to a happy spot. On top of that it does not pick up a person walking within 10 feet of my house but every car that goes by 70 feet away sets it off. Spend the money on a quality unit.
strobe light
Would Not RecommendTurned itself into a strobe light after 2 years. Would be OK for a disco but very annoying in the back yard. Returned to Lowe's for a refund under a 5 year warranty.
Did not work, poor customer service from factory.
Would Not RecommendFixture worked for about 5 minutes. Contacted company by phone. Was told which part I needed and they would send it. Months later, still no part. I waited too long to install unit after purchase, so Lowe's would not take it back. This is a Utilitech problem, not a knock on Lowe's.
sensor won't work
Would Not RecommendBought this light for our back yard. The install was easy enough and the light came on in when placed in dawn/dusk and test. You can imagine my surprise when the MOTION activated light would no activate to motion. The light will be taken down and returned. Don't waste your money on this piece of junk.
LIghts failed with moisture
Would Not RecommendLights look nice, install easy, are bright... but didnt last. I installed 4 of them and only have one that is still working. All under eaves of my house and only thing i can tell is water/moisture got to them after rains.
motion detection too slow to turn light on
Would Not RecommendOn motion detection, turning on the light is delayed at least 12 seconds. That's a very long time to leave a burglar to their own devices at your door in the dark! Light is set for High motion sensitivity and 3 minutes on. It's only "instant on" while in test mode for daylight demos. There is something wrong with how the motion and light sensors work together no matter how it is adjusted. ---end---
Stopped working after 1 year
Would Not RecommendWorked great for a year, then the light either wouldn't come on or would be so dim it was useless.
Worst light ever
Would Not RecommendI bought 2 lights. I installed both and both turn on and off whenever they want. It was a problem with the pin connectors in the mount. I decided to remove the pin connectors and hard wire the unit. Light stays bright for 5 seconds and goes dim. The light when on is hazy like looking through a fog. Both came on when they wanted. I gave up, bought regular floodlights with led floodlight bulbs. No issues for 3 weeks. These lights are crap. Don’t waste the money.
Stops working completely after a year
Would Not RecommendI bought 7 a year ago. In the last month, all of them stopped working. Customer service says take them down and return to Lowes. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't waste your money
Would Not RecommendI purchased two of these lights and installed one right away when I purchased them, and didnt get around to putting the other one up until about 6 months ago. As of now they both quit working and are doing the exact same thing. They come on and off like they should, but are so dim they don't light up they area any longer. When the one started doing it, I just figured it had defective let's or wiring, but 2 within a couple months, they must just be junk and not worth even there cheap price tag, a...

Didn't last very long!! Purchased November 2017.
Would RecommendWhile I was very pleased with the performance to begin with, the light stopped working after 2 1/2 years. Everybody makes mistakes and nothing is perfect, but I will see how good the 5 year warranty is. Right now I would recommend this product based on the initial performance, but will see how good customer service is.
3 dead in a month
Would Not RecommendWell I don’t often write reviews, but felt it was my civic duty to inform the people. I bought 3 of these for my new home and installed them in a matter of hours. While installing I noticed there was an additional connection point as the base has like a quick connect from lights. Well with electrical more connection points usually means more problems so I was a little skeptical. The first night I was super impressed with sensitivity and brightness. Then about a week later we had a heavy rain and...
Not very durable
Would Not RecommendBought 4 initially and they seemed to work great. Bought two more the next year. Then a few months later one mounted on the eave of my home quit working. I replaced to keep the matching look. Then a few months later two more failed on my dock. First purchase was June 2018 and three of the units have burned out. Not very confident about warranty at this point but will find out this weekend.
Motion Detector is a Joke
Would Not RecommendAs several other reviews reported, the unit I purchased has a terrible motion detector. I tried it on all settings and ensured nothing was in the way of the sensor. I have it mounted 8ft off the ground in the rear yard. Tested it many times on the highest setting in different areas, furthest it would detect was about 15ft but a good 85% of the time I was within 8ft by the time it came on. Returning as soon as I find one to replace it with.
Died at 1 year (Utilitech warranty unreachable)
Would Not RecommendThis light is supposed to have a 5 year warranty... however the company has no website and the number just hangs up on you when you call. Will not purchase again. Pure crap.
very bright when they work
Would Not RecommendI put 3 of these up with no issues and was super impressed with how bright they were. I will say as far as construction i was not impressed with the additional snap in prong connections in addition to standard twist cap connection as well.. It's never a good sign to have additional unnecessary connection points within electrical series. then.... our first rain came..... 2 out of the died. went back and got replacements and guess what 1 of the 2 already failed after another rain. definitely ju...
