Photocell replacement

I bought this to replace the photocell on my flag illumination light. It was very east to take the old cell out and replace it with this new one, as the wiring was the same. Works great, just like it's supposed too.

Needed a replacement for my outside post light. Worked great with a little mounting mods.

Driveway light

We have a light at the end of our driveway that is on every night. The Dusk to Dawn sensor failed and I purchased this as a replacement. Less than 10 minutes to install start to finish. Seems to be working great.

Failed install

I replaced my old sensor with this identical spec. and size sensor. I labeled my line and load wires and connected the new sensor exactly like the old one. It was day, and I turned the power on, and it did not turn on. I taped a napkin over the sensor, and the lights turned on. I then removed the napkin, and the lights turned off, so I thought the install was done. I waited that night for the lights to turn on, but to my disappointment, they didn’t. Replacement for a non-functional light sensor switch. Leads were long enough to allow for easy connection and sensor functions properly.

Not Waterproof

Should be OK after I waterproofed it with silicone sealant. Used it to replace same product that failed and was full of water when removed.

Replacement photocell

Worked great for my yard light photocell replacement. Be aware of the size hole in your pole or fixture as mine was 5/8" and this fit perfectly.

It worked

Took two tries to find the correct one but Lowes had it. Replaced old sensor in my sodium floodlight, now it turns off at dawn.

Definitely not "raintight"

I saw some complaints that it only lasts 1-2 years. Those reviewers got lucky. Mine lasted less than a week. Maybe this is suitable for some "damp" locations like in garages or under awnings or overhangs, but it is clearly not built to tolerate actual rain and wet weather. Maybe give it a try if you live in California, or some other place where it never rains. Otherwise, hard pass.

Keeps turning lights on and off during the day

Im needing to do research on getting another photocell , this one keeps turning on the lights during the day with clear skies and no obstructions Disappointed that I will have to use a bucket truck again since its 20 feet tall

Comes on at dusk and shuts off at dawn

My light was working 24/7 because the sensor went bad. There was no switch to turn it off. My tenants literally took the cover off and twisted the lightbulb each evening and morning. Swapped the old with the new and bam, it works great!

functional

The products is a good purchase for the money. The dusk to dawn light bulbs do not work so this was a better option, I have 2 - one on each driveway pillar light. One does flicker off or a few seconds periodically but is one most of the time at dark. The instructions to connect the wiring were clear-there are also a few videos on line. A better option that a new light.

It works!

This photo cell replaced the one on my front walk light post. Easy replacement and it works well.

Good enough

It does what it supposed to. It turns the lamp post on at night, and turns it off in the morning. This sensor takes a little bit later at dusk to turn on then my last one, but it works sufficiently.

Lighting for my American Flag at night.

Light does go on at night but also goes on and off several times during the daylight hours. Called my Lowe's store in Inverness, Florida and spoke to Carrie in the electrical department. He was very helpful and explained to me that the photocell is most likely defective and advised that I bring it in to be replaced. This is very inconvenient and costly since I paid someone to install the photocell, along with the electrical box and cover. Now I will have to pay him again to take all the wiring o...
