Would RecommendEasier to set than the old fashion spring traps. The sensitivity is a little high and prone to triggering. Keep fingers away. Once set in place it stays in the ready position. It has hard plastic teeth which does pinch wood just fine. It did not catch the mouse though. And when it triggered on my finger, did not hurt much or broke skin. If a mouse does trigger the trap, I am not sure it would kill it. It could certainly trap it.
