What Customers Are Saying
The Spyder Diamond Edge Hole Saw Bit has shown mixed performance. While it can effectively drill clean, smooth holes through various materials like tile, granite, and glass when used with a drill press and water, some users found the bit wore out quickly, especially when drilling harder materials. The quality and durability of the bit also seem inconsistent, with some customers receiving defective or poorly made bits that broke easily. Overall, the product's performance appears to be hit-or-miss, as its effectiveness can vary.

used this to drill a hole in a tile but it broke
Would Not RecommendBroke while drilling first hole
Terrible drill bits
Would Not RecommendI went through 4 of these trying to drill a few holes in ceramic tiles. I was using a water spray bottle to keep the temperature down as well. These are awful bits. I bought an alternate set of no-name bits online that were much cheaper & worked much better. It would be nice to get my $80 back from Lowe's for the 4 bits. I try not to shop at Lowe's if I can help it due to quality concerns.
Works Great
Would RecommendWorked awesome cut holes in tiles without any issues.
It works!
Worked great! Cut a beautiful hole through slate and cut it very quickly!
Limited Uses
Would Not RecommendThe product performs well the first few times it is used. It is crucial that you maintain the water on the bit when drilling otherwise the cutting portion of the bit quickly deteriorates and the bit becomes unusable. With proper attention to detail and careful use it works, but even so the life of the bit is very short.
Great value
Would RecommendWorked as expected, reasonably priced.
Great drill bit for ceramics
it works as described for cutting a drainage hole in a ceramic pot
Would rate 0 if possible
Would Not RecommendI thought the other bad reviews were from DIYers who did t know how to keep these bits cool. I was mistaken! I'm a professional carpenter for 20 years and burned through this bit after drilling 6 holes into ceramic tiles to mount a set of grab bars. Kept it cool with water and drilled slowly. Trash.
Poor quality
Would Not RecommendDiamonds not bonded well didn’t even get one hole in a 3/8 tile before the end was just bare metal
not good
Would Not RecommendThis bit did not even make it through one hole in a porcelain tile before becoming ineffective. Not worth the $18 I paid for it.
Cut holes in ceramic tile
Works great but wanders very easily. Start it on an angle and it will be fine.
Works as promised
Needed to drill 1/2' hole through my soapstone counter top. Worked like a charm. Used wired drill, not battery
