Amazed for the price!

I replaced my 30 year old RS brand analog VOM with this package. The digital meter seems absolutely fabulous, and quite intuitive, to an old guy like me. However, I added a stroke of white paint to the rotary function dial pointer. Under low light, it can make distinguishing the difference between selecting 600 VDC, or 2000 micro-amps, or other similar dumb mistakes, which would result in "smoke testing" the device. The other two devices, which only added about $3 to the price are of dubious...

I did some research before I bought the Southwire test kit. The quality of these tools are good and the price is much cheaper than some of the others. So far I am happy with the purchase ☺️

Non-Contact AC Voltage Detector not working

Bought kit a week ago, the 40117N Non-Contact AC Voltage Detector works intermittently. From the start the flashlight never worked. On known live power source like a wire leading to a table lamp sometimes it flashes red sometimes it remains green. I'm assuming I'm using it correctly.

Voltage detector stopped working after minor use

The voltage detector has stopped working after about a year of owning the product. Glad I tried it on a known live circuit first or I would have had a nice shock since we turned off the wrong breaker. The multimeter and circuit tester are still okay, but wonder about the quality of those 2 products now that the voltage detector has failed with minimal use.

Replacement Fuses

The replacement fuses are easily accessible ,however the fuses for this meter are expensive and hard to find.

Purchased to test my car battery and alternator. Worked as listed ... Excellent multi use Multimeter set for the price!
