What Customers Are Saying

The nylon replacement blades are generally effective at cutting grass, weeds, and small bushes, providing a significant improvement over string trimmers for many users. They are easy to install and replace, making maintenance straightforward. However, the quality and durability of the blades can vary, with some users reporting they break or dull easily, especially in colder weather. Overall, the blades are a convenient and affordable option for light-duty trimming tasks, but may not be suitable for heavy-duty or prolonged use.

Shakespeare Nylon Replacement Blades

Would Not Recommend

In the past year the blades usually breaks prematurely versus wearing out regardless of the RPM of the weedeater or outdoor temperatures. My home is located in coastal North Carolina. This winter has been very mild (50-75 degrees) during the daylight hours. I've used the vinyl blades for at least 8 years on my property/yard and have never went through as many blades as I do now. The premature breakage doesn't make them cost effective compared to the past use. Unfortunately weedeater line is m...

The concept is good, execution only fair.

Would Not Recommend

Yes, the blades do a good job of cutting but only marginally better than string. It seems that hitting anything solid means blade breakage. While the changing of blades is easy, the expense is, in my opinion, too high for the minimal benifit over string. I will go back to a string head.

Cut great but break easy.

Would Not Recommend

They cut grass, weeds ok, but don't bump them against anything as they will just break and you be left with just the head spinning.

Weedeating blade quality has gone down

Would Not Recommend

I have used the yellow weedeating blades for approximately 15 years. I've purchased 99% of them from Lowe's. Until last year the blades were VERY durable. Starting last cutting season to this season the blades are less durable. They appear to be less flexible/brittle in mild/warm weather (65-80 degrees). They become a little more durable/less brittle in hot temperatures (85-95 degrees). I can no longer use them in weather 55 degrees and below. The blades become very, very brittle. They break fre...

Much better than string!

Would Recommend

Great product for those who do a lot of trimming. No more bumping. Just go until you wear it out. Comment about value: It is just plastic. The company and seller are getting too much profit.

Very Poor Quality

Would Not Recommend

Don't buy these. I went through them like they were butter. Had to keep replacing when they broke or quickly wore out. Made of soft plastic that just didn't hold up.

Not really worth the money spent.

Would Not Recommend

They work well for a very short period of time. They wear out WAY to quickly for the cost.

Cut Til Your Arms Are Tired

Would Recommend

I replaced my string line head for the weed eater a couple years ago with this product. So much easier to "load" and cuts for way longer than the string.

I haven't actually used any from this package yet. The original ones that i got with the head i have yet to replace. I even hit some rocks and landscaping bricks with out damaging them so i am assuming that they will be as resilient being that they are the same things in the original head package.

Very Strong

Would Recommend

I was suprised how long the blades lasted, and I was wacking everything in site including thick weeds with branch like strenght the size of my pinky, the blades went bad when I accidently hit my chain link fence, even than they didn't break just the teeth grinded down, good and strong product.

Decent product

Would Recommend

I love this product, however I wish they would last a little longer but otherwise on my gas trimmer these blades will chop down darn near anything.

Convenient but room for improvement

Would Recommend

I decided to make this purchase after being continually frustrated with replacing wire trimmer for my weed-eater. These trimmer head blades are much more convenient. Out of a 12 pack, I have 2 or 3 that break off before they've been completely used. Part of that may be that I need to continue adjusting to the blades (i.e. not treat them like wire trimmer). As I've gotten use to the difference in the two choices, I prefer the blades (over wire). Even if there is an occasional break off, I'd rathe...

Worth the Extra for the head

Would Recommend

These blades are the only thing that will keep our mini-farm neat and trim, no pun intended. We have about 1500 linear feet of fencing we trim as well as a hedgerow of wild things like honeysuckle, jasmine, wild berries, etc. We use thse blades exclusively as the trim line used with the factory-installed trimmer head just doesn't cut and will break on the fenceposts. These blades trim under the fence, around the posts, and everywhere else without fail.
