Design Flaw causes stripes
Would Not RecommendFertilizer gets trapped in the hollow of the wheels and then releases in a concentrated line. Creating dark green stripes. In my case every 5’. Lawn looks like a bowling alley. People are saying to fill the hollows with spray foam or cover with tape. I say trash it or DONT BUY IT.
Spreader
Looks like it has stress marks 1 in bucket area 3 around bolt holes. I bought grub x 3 bags. I haven’t put down yet or used spreader. Thank you

Scotts Spreader
The spreader is fine. The weak part of the mechanism is the drive axle and gearing to the hopper agitator. It seems to be fine for light weight fertilizers. Heavier weight products are harder on this mechanism.

The spreader was pre-assembled and so easy to set up. The instructions were clear on how to set it so the correct amount of halts was applied. So far so good!

Broken Wheels, No Limited Lifetime Warranty
Would Not RecommendI purchased the Scott's Turf Builder EdgeGuard DLX Broadcast Spreader from Lowe's October 2023. I used the spreader for basic homeowner use for 2024 and 2025. This Spring I noticed both wheels are broken after the first use. See pictures. I contacted Scott's about the Limited Lifetime Warranty that is described on this website. They denied a warranty beyond 1 Year and offered a 25% coupon toward a new one. I said No. I will never buy a Scott's product again. It is junk. In my opinion, t...
