What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise this starter fertilizer for dramatically accelerating grass germination and growth, with many reporting visible results within days to a week. Reviewers consistently highlight ease of application, clear instructions, and compatibility with standard spreaders. The product excels at revitalizing bare patches and struggling lawns, with long-term users calling it irreplaceable. A small number report no visible results, though most attribute this to impatience, insufficient time, or improper application rather than product failure. I’ve been using Scott’s products on my lawn for over 40 years and there is no other product I would recommend.

Scotts Turf Builder Starter Fertilizer
Grass is growing well and appears to be very healthy. The seed seemed to germinate faster than when I’ve not used starter fertilizer.

Fertilizer Burn on New Grass
Would Not RecommendUsed this starter fertilizer hoping to help grow our newly planted grass and ended up with yellow seedlings within days (before and after pics below). Followed the spreader guidelines and made sure to water, so I'm pretty disappointed. Now I'm just hoping to bring it back to life. I wouldn't recommend this a "starter" fertilizer.

Scott’s starter fertilizer
Would RecommendI’m am a big fan of this product I have been using it for fifteen years. I haven’t found anything thing that even comes remotely close to this. It makes a dreary yard healthier almost immediately and can literally bring a dying yard back from the brink.
