What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise this starter fertilizer for dramatically accelerating grass germination and growth, with many reporting visible results within days to a week. Reviewers consistently highlight ease of application, clear instructions, and compatibility with standard spreaders. The product excels at revitalizing bare patches and struggling lawns, with long-term users calling it irreplaceable. A small number report no visible results, though most attribute this to impatience, insufficient time, or improper application rather than product failure. Overall, customers consider it highly effective and reliable for lawn establishment.

Would RecommendNeighbor suggested starter as i was having trouble getting grass to grow. I did and it worked!! Only used half for the area. Couple weeks i will use the rest. We have been getting a lot of rain. That helps.

The bag arrived with a large cut in it in which a piece of packaging tape was placed overtop. At quick glance, I assumed it was just extra tape from packaging up the shipment and didn't think anything more of it. Upon using the product, I discovered the tape was purposefully placed on the product (to cover said cut) and water must have gotten into an uncovered part of the cut. The product was watery mush. Not sure if it was useful at that point or not.

recommend but don't trust spreader settings
Would RecommendI bought 3-1lb bags, which is supposed to do 3000 sq ft. I had bout 2500 sq ft to cover. I set the Scotts broadcast spreader to 13, which is what the bags said. It didn't even do 700 sq ft. i had a young man pushing the spreader, so I couldn't see how low it got so fast (I have a bad hip). Now I hope my new lawn doesn't die from being over-fertilized. And I have to buy more stuff, and I guess I will put the spreader on 5 and hope that works. Too bad this didn't work today, because we are getting...
