counterweight broke

counter weight broke after only 4 years of use. an obvious problem with this washer. wish I would have kept my old one instead of replacing.

loud spin cycle

was great for a while now the drum is making so much noise during spin cycle. I see this is not unusual. 4 repair people have been out and it is still loud. very disappointed

Found the leak!

I was having continual, intermittent issues with this thing leaking water. Sometimes a trickle, sometimes a gusher, sometimes nothing at all. It was bizarre. Not even the repair man could figure it out and he gave up after a couple visits. But I was determined to track it down. I wasn't buying a new washer. And I finally found it. Its that lousy soap dispenser housing! Pull that thing out, give it a good clean, then seal the two halves together with silicone. Haven't had a problem since.

Jet noise occurred after 3 years

Washer was great for first 3 years but starting to make jet noise during the spinning cycle and gotten worse and worse. I only suspected the ball bearing issue but after some research and the reviews here, it seems that this particular model has ball bearing issue. Only the washer broke so I can't find an alternative washer for my old dryer to stack. I have many Samsung products and I love them so this is very disappointing.

Poorly made bearing wore out after just a year

Purchased just over a year ago and it started making a really loud noise while spinning like a jet engine. The bearings have gone bad already!!! It’s a two person house hold so we don’t do a lot of laundry. Will never buy Samsung again. We had to have the dry serviced just 6 months after getting it. Fortunately it was still under warranty. The washer is just out of warranty

Great and fast washer.

We bought ours in 2019 and the drain pump just went out now in 2025. 6 years, but tons of loads later. I keep my stuff clean and would put vinegar with the cleaning cycle. If you ever start to smell dirty water, it might be your pump beginning to go out.

Doesn't compare to my Frigidaire

It only lasted 3 years!! We paid to have it checked because it was no longer spinning and out clothes would be soaked when it was done washing. We were told that the bearings were completely rusted (even though we don't have a leak, AT ALL) and Samsung won't sell the bearings alone, they have to be purchased with the whole drum and back cover of the drum. Save your money - Buy something else

Was the washer not even 3 years and the counterweight is shot. Seems to be a common theme with this model. I will never purchase anything Samsung again.

Another Broken Counter Weight

Same issue as many others here. The counterweight is ready to break in two. The drum shakes, bangs, and knocks like crazy during the spin cycle. Only a few years old. Ridiculous!

Broke after 3 years. Buy something else.

Less than 4 years old, light use, we've taken great care of it. It began shaking like crazy, as though unbalanced even though it wasn't. Now there is a dent in the front and the counterweight is disintegrating. Cost of repair is more than getting a new machine. A waste of money.

Don’t buy it

So upset with this product. Like others, we invested in this set thinking it would last us a while. We had one service repair while it was under warranty, and now that it’s out of warranty I think the counterweight has broken and we will have to buy a new washer after only 3 years. Ridiculous.

Great for the first 4.5 years

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The internal bucket and bearings broke after 4.5 yrs, the cost to service it was nearly as much as replacing it with a new one which is what I ended up doing.

Broken counterweight junk washer

I bought this set less than 3 years ago . Thinking it would last our family for some years to come . Investing in what I thought was a good product but it has been a nightmare the counterweight broke off it leaks water and is loud . It is unfixable and I am going to have to get another washer now . Being a mom if little ones it’s extremely hard to be without a washer while I save for another one . It should have lasted more than three years for the price we paid . Disappointed in quality !

Horrible

Purchased this washing machine 3 years ago. It has had issues since the beginning with sounding like a jet engine during the spin cycle, shaking and vibrating to now it is making a loud noise during the spin cycle that sounds like the machine is ready to explode. I have read other reviews on this machine and it seems like this is a major problem with this model. I believe this washing machine model is a lemon. I have had other brands of washers and never had any problems and they lasted ...

Garbage. Broken after 3 years. Waste of $$. Not built to last. Same issues others report.

Common Issue-Broken Counter Weight-Need new washer

Same issue as many others. The product is defective. The counter balance weight broke in half along with its support structure which is molded into the the drum container. Therefore, when the counter weight breaks, the entire washer machine needs to be replaced.

Samsung please fix the problem!

Fortunately I bought this over 4 years ago and it was working great. About a few weeks it started making noise until I opened it and noticed some bolts of the weights weirdly broke. Now that I see these other reviews I noticed this is something that the washer usually has the problem with. It’s too expensive to be this defective!

Broken already...

I've had the set for less than three years and the weight distribution piece in the front edge of the washer has broken. I saw another review here and noted that my complaint was the same as mine. Now, I am trying to figure out what to do because this should not be broken; especially this soon in the life of the machine!!

JUNK!

Bought it just under three years ago, it often left clothes not clean and smelling badly....having to rewash. Now, it is leaking all over the floor and will cost more to fix than it is worth to bring someone in to fix. TRASH! Should have lasted 10 years for the price. Will never buy a Samsung again....

Short lifespan

This machine lasted less than 3 years before the ball bearing failed. With the cost of the part + labor essentially equaling the cost of a new machine, I'll be buying a new brand.
