What Customers Are Saying
The screen frame kits were found to be easy to use and a good value by many customers, allowing for quick and affordable screen replacement. However, some customers reported issues with the quality and durability of the frames, describing them as flimsy, cheap, and prone to bending or warping. The thin aluminum material, difficulty removing the pre-installed spline, and poor corner connectors were common complaints. While the kits worked well for smaller windows, many felt the frames were not sturdy enough for larger screens and recommended adding additional support.

Would Not RecommendThe packaging says that these are 60”. They are actually only 58.5. Very disappointed

Corner pieces dont fit
Would Not RecommendI still have my old frame and cut the pieces the same length. The corner pieces in the kit do not fit the frame despite coming in the same kit. How does that happen? Waste of money.
Convenient kit
Would RecommendOnly thing that would make it better is more detailed instructions for assembly.

Horrible quality and insane packaging!
Would Not RecommendSo, not only do they package the individual cut-to-size pieces with the spline already in them (so you first have to pull them out, which stretches and rips them), but the material is so cheaply and terribly made that it is mostly unusable. Just the act of pulling out the spline is enough to bend the frame. A slight breeze will bend this cheap frame. Do NOT buy these kits! If they had frames that were even halfway decent, it would be fine, but these frames will bend and twist just by looking at ...
waste of money
Would Not RecommendUnike the photo, the spline is already seeded in the frame upon arrival. Tears to pieces while pulling it out.

The spline is pre installed
Would Not RecommendThe pre-installed spline is horrible. Even if you are as careful as possible the spline still tears and in the process the frame gets nicked. Even with two people carefully trying to remove it, it still stretches and tears. Returning this item. If only I could be compensated for wasted time. Very disappointed.
cheaply made product
Would Not RecommendI purchased these kits to build replacement window screens for my house. The aluminum frames used in these kits are a very thin gauge aluminum which will bend and flex when you spline screen into the frame making them virtually useless. Don’t waste your money on these.
Should be removed from Lowes inventory
Would Not RecommendThis is a terrible product. I bought 4 sets, attempted one, then returned the rest. I'd like a refund on the one attempt. I read reviews wondering if I was doing something wrong after finding the spline would not come out. I was very gentle putting it together as many other mentioned how fragile they are. No good. Sides still bowed and warped. I went to attempt to put it in the window anyway, which is when I noticed the plastic end-caps showing signs of strain. A tiny bit of force putting into p...
spline is junk
Would Not RecommendBought 12 kits. Couldn’t remove the Spline with out prying it out and ripping it. I thought it was a fluke that the 1st Three were like that but the 6 we completed were all the same. I’m going to return the rest of them And purchase all parts separately. Why would they ever package the spline in the channel already only to have you remove it ? The packaging is misleading with a graphic of a spool of spline. I do not recommend.

Flimsy
Would Not RecommendIt gives you a lot for the money but flexed horribly once I attached the screen material. It works but it is very cheap material.

Great replacement Screen kit ......BUT
Would RecommendI put 20 sets of these together with no problems. My one complaint was the packaging. 1. You can’t get the tape or the Adfors sticker off the aluminum rails. It took longer to get the glue off then to put them together. 2. The spline that comes with it is in the channel. Try to get that out in one piece. There’s four rails so you have to get the spline out of all four pieces. Have fun with that.

Too cheap
Would Not RecommendYea the aluminum is thin but to me that's not the biggest issue. The spline is cheap and smooth and the pull tabs pop out too easily. I'm installing a screen in an upstairs windows so I need the pull tabs to install it but they keep popping out.

Do Yourself A Favor and BUY SPLINE!!
Would Not RecommendThe screen kit comes with 48" precut metal frame pieces that have spline pre-cut and inserted into the screen channels. The consumer must pull the spline out in order to fit the screen material in. The spline in the kit that I purchased was so old that it was brittle and melted into the channels. It was a small nightmare to dig it out of the channel with a ice pick and took considerable amount of time to dig it all out of all the pieces. Otherwise the kit worked well. Just do yourselves a favor...
