Great Sander. Only downfall is I can not find a replacement backing pad for it

Exactly what I needed. The light panel definitely keeps me from digging in too hard while sanding. The dust container works but there is still some dust in the air and the container needs a lot of shaking to empty. I'll probably hook up my vac. Much better than what I had been using.

disappointed

I am very disappointed because the dusk canister will not stay attached when the sander is running. Cannot find anything on line on how to fix or correct this problem. If it wasn't for this problem would give it a higher rating.

Great buy

This is my 3rd random orbital sander. The first one lasted for years so I bought the newer model which broke down in a few months and took weeks to get replacement parts. When I saw the Skil in the store I was drawn to the dust collection system and the price. When my second sander quit, I ordered a Skil on line and received it very quickly. Great for pros and diy'er

Great sander with enough to power. I've read other reviews where the user said when they apply medium pressure the sander stalls. That's their first mistake. You don't apply down ward pressure to an orbital sander. Let the sander do the work. You use your hand only to guide it. Don't go over the edge more than 1/4" of the disk, you'll round over the edge or you work. There are many YouTube videos on the use of this tool (American Woodworking Guild) and many others. Always do your research on too...

Worked great for a year or so and the broke

Product seemed great while it worked and all of a sudden the pressure sensor or something went out and now it spins at max motor speed tearing up wood. Just didn't last, no quality it power tools these days.

Skil orbital sander

I am building a cedar strip canoe and needed a good orbital sander for the job. The Skil sander has a rubber guard around the edge which is a great added feature to prevent bangs on the thin wood strips at the bow and stern. It is so easy to take off a used disc and change to a new one. I sand down old steel bicycle frames too. I have several other types of sanders, but this is a terrific new tool for my use!

Does the Job

I bought this sander to replace a cheaper model. The overall feel is great. The dust collector basket is easy to empty. Well worth the extra $20.

Good quality at a good price

I have been replacing some of my sanders recently. I am careful with my tools, so several of them are over 30 years old. I bought a Skil 1/4 sheet sander to replace a broken sander. I liked it so much I bought a Skil belt sander to replace a belt sander that was starting to make sounds of impending death. Even my wife can use this

I purchased this sander because I am building a bed for my son. My wife took an interest in the sander while I was using it wanted to try. She liked it so much that she helped sand the wood for the bed and got a few NEW ideas of refinishing some older pieces of furniture that we have. Over all its a good sander and easy to use.

love the product but service bad
