What Customers Are Saying
The primer appears to be generally effective and reliable for preparing surfaces prior to painting. Most users report the primer adheres well, provides good coverage, and creates a smooth base. It works on a variety of materials. However, some experienced uneven spray patterns or strong odors. While a few were dissatisfied, the overall consensus is the primer is a quality product that makes painting easier, especially for refinishing or restoring older surfaces.

VERY textured
Would Not RecommendI thought this would be about the same as regular primer other than it claims to bond to nearly anything. It is extremely textured...Extremely rough.

DO NOT BUY!!!!! ABSOLUTELY RHE WORST!!
Would Not RecommendPrimer my son's hamper and it starting peeling and chipping righr away. totally disappointed returning the product.
That is odd, Judy. If the hamper is made of plastic, it may be made of a material that isn't paintable, even with the Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Unive...

be careful opening the cap.
Would RecommendGreat primer (one of the few oil base spray paint primers that will prime galvanized metal) but lousy cap and spray nozzle design. Taking off the cap is almost certain to either knock off the spray nozzle or as happened this time it broke the nozzle. I note that many of the Rustoleum cans are now offered with a trigger type exposed nozzle. Much better design so maybe they recognized the problem.

Is it dust or paint?
Would Not RecommendUsed 2 cans for a 2-person metal glider. Outside temp was approaching 90 degrees, but not quite there. In the shade holding the can approximately 12" away from the surface and it was like spraying dust. Let it dry, brushed off dust, wiped w/mineral spirits. Resanded because surface so rough. Cleaned and tried again today w/temps in the seventies. Gray thread like strands floated through the air. Little to no wind on either attempt. Will try a different primer.
