Great idea

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used regular spray paint to paint canvas before and while it worked it left things feeling too crunchy. It's awesome that Rust-Oleum came out with a paint specific for this purpose and I can tell you it is way better!

Wrong Color

I must return this item as the color shown on the web ad does not match the color on the can. In the ad the color appears to be a light tan when in reality it is very grey. Not what I was looking for.

Nozzle stops working

I purchased the first can and thought that can was defective, so I returned and again the same thing happened. I shake the can spray at a distance and up close and in less than a minute is stops spraying. Now the lounge chair is worst than when I started. I need a solution to a least make it presentable. I will now return the second can.

Does not Cover

Does not cover properly. Used two cans and still did not cover a small area properly

doesn't spray

Doesn't spray. Comes out in splatters if it comes out at all. Had to exchange, new one not much better. Doesn't cover darker materials. Might be fine if it sprayed and only used on white cloth.

Not all cans will spray til the end!

The color is beautiful-teal, I think, but the spray situation is unreliable. I followed all directions-shake a minute after ball starts sounding, shake frequently during spraying, etc. I shook the can approximately every 15 seconds or less during spraying, and out of 15 cans, three worked properly. The rest stopped working after a very short time, and felt almost completely full but would not spray. Very frustrating!

Nozzles stop up

I bought this to paint a large patio umbrella. I bought 6 cans and have only been able to empty one. The nozzles on all 6 cans stopped up. I shook each can for one minute (and sometimes more), and shook it as I went, and even swapped nozzles. No luck. Now, I have 5 almost full cans that I can’t get to work.Not sure how I am going to finish it. Still have most of the umbrella to do. Can’t recommend for a big project unless someone knows how to unstop the nozzles. Might be okay for a small cushio...

I loved this product. I used it to spray some chairs for my dining room. It took about 3 cans per chair but the color came out wonderful.

Fair Results

Less than impressed with the results. It may be due to the extreme transition of color (I applied the navy color to cream colored cushion covers), but it required a great quantity of paint to acheive coverage. It took several coats, as the instructions direct, to build up the color. Even then, the coverage is not particularly uniform and the fabric becomes pretty stiff. Excellent product

I did not have anything that needed to be painted with outdoor fabric paint, mostly curious. Bought a can and grabbed a couple outdoor pillows that were headed to the trash. It worked perfectly, 2 heavy coats allowing to it dry overnight in between coats. I will say I am a darn good spray painter. However I would guess the majority of the complaints on here are do to one thing. You did not shake the can longenough!!! You have to shake this paint until your arm hurts and when you think you...

Great for outdoor cushions. It does take a lot of bottles to get a set done but so worth it. I needed about 3-4 coats for each cushion. 12 bottles/

Seasoned DIY’er-didnt work for me

What a mess! Ruined my cover. Follow ed instructions. Not the first time i used spray oaint in 35 years of home ownership! Dont waste your money. Thought the first can was defective, same thing happened with the second. Thats what I get for taking the lazy way out and not sewing a new a new cover. Would have worn my old sneakers too it I thought it would sputter the way it did! Now i need to buy or make a new cushion cover AND sneakers.
