What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise this butcher block oil for its ease of application, beautiful finish, and food-safe properties. Many highlight how straightforward it is to apply with rags or cloths, even for beginners, and note it enhances natural wood grain and delivers a smooth, professional result. Reviewers consistently emphasize its reliability for cutting boards, countertops, and food-contact surfaces, with several reporting years of successful use. Most find multiple coats and light sanding between applications key to durability. A few mention chemical odor during application and note the finish requires reapplication every six months, though most view this as normal maintenance rather than a drawback.

Would RecommendEasy to use and effective on wood food service accouterments. Make sure to treat the wood surfaces in a warm setting and give plenty of time for the treatment to cure & dry

It has a chemical kinda smell!
Would RecommendIt went on great and soaked in nicely. It did have a chemical smell and I am not sure I would put food directly on in all the time. But I loved the look of the natural wood

Find your "food safe" finish elsewhere
Would Not RecommendTheir instructions aren't even consistent. The can says prep, apply finish, wait 6 hours, scuff sand before second coat, remove dust, apply again. Dries out in the well sealed can
Would RecommendI do like using this product on the few cutting boards I make. I seal the can very well after each use. Once the product is half gone, it skims over and you lose some after each opening. At $19 per pint/$1.1875 per ounce, I find it a bit frustrating. I feel the packaging needs improving to reduce loss of product.

Not waterproof
Would Not RecommendI did 3 coats of this with a scuff sand in between and it cured for a week. Two drops of liquid fell while cooking and the liquid completely permeated and stained the wood. Now I have to refinish all over again.
