I have used several of these and they hold up pretty good. They come in very handy for protecting tree trunks when trimming.

This is a good solid piece that goes on easily and seems to do a great job of keeping weeds from encroaching into the area covered. The color (black) looks great with the other landscaping items we have added to our yard. Needs a light brushing every now and then to remove grass clippings or other free debris but is doing exactly what I expected it to. water filters through and down into the soil easily. I bought 2 more recently. Like it a bunch.

Would Not RecommendI had these rings on seven trees and shrubs and realized those plants were all growing very slowly. So I pulled the rings off last winter and this spring every one of those plants is going crazy with just plain wood mulch. Insane difference from the previous 5-7 years. My guess is these rings tend to choke oxygen from the roots.

The quail and birds, not to mention the wind, strew normal mulch all over the place. With these - no muss, no fuss! Water goes right through them so no worries when watering.

Great invention, makes lawn-tree maintenance easy
Would RecommendI like tree rings. This one was very well made and had landscape fabric on the underside which prevents weeds from growing through. I held it down with landscape fabric staples. so much easier mowing. I can mow right over it so no need to use a weed eater.
