Would RecommendI live in Central FL & have been buying these for years whenever I add a tree or shrub to my yard. The ring helps hold in the moisture without attracting insects & keeps the weeds down, too. Much more attractive than the mulch looks after only a short time. Long lasting.

Tree Ring Prevents Weeds BUT Needs a BIgger hole
Would RecommendIt does a good job of preventing weeds and other plants from growing around a tree like my arbor vitaes BUT the inner ring hole should be wider. I ended up taking a utility knife to widen the hole by cutting off an extra 1.5-2 inches around. The caveat is I've read article that warn the ring could prevent oxygen and rain from getting to the roots.
