What Customers Are Saying
The Piranha Wallpaper Scoring Tool can be helpful in facilitating wallpaper removal when used carefully, as it allows removal solutions to penetrate. However, the tool is reported to be poorly made and prone to breaking, even with light use. Some customers also noted that it can damage the drywall if used too aggressively. Overall, the tool's effectiveness is mixed, and users are advised to exercise caution when using it and consider alternative options.

Would RecommendWorks good, but difficult to get close to moldings, corners, etc. Easy to grip and scores just the right depth.
Wonderful tool!
Would RecommendMy wallpaper border was not coming off. It was made of a glossed paper not vinyl. once I used the scorer the water released it. It worked perfectly. Just as I had hoped it would.
Does the trick!
Would RecommendDon't press down hard, let it do the work for you and this is an amazingly cheap and easy way to remove wall paper.
A necessary tool.
Would RecommendThis tool is fantastic. The product allows the liquid remover to penetrate the old wallpaper & make removal much easier. I was hesitant at first thinking it might damage the wall underneath the wallpaper, but there was no damage at all. The only problem we had with the scoring tool was than near the end of our project one of the cutting fingers broke off & the tool would no longer work as designed. Other than that I would recommend this tool to anyone.
Good only at start
Would Not RecommendStarted working for first few passes, then one of the wheels locked up and eventually broke off. Hope you don't have a large area or you'll need more than one.
"Worked very well"
Would RecommendDespite some of the other reviews I went ahead and purchased this product. I didn't have any problem at all with the quality of the product. I worked small areas with it peeled the paper and then worked another small area. This is wall paper that we are dealing with and my experience has been that it is never a pleasant experience. The most mysterious substance known to man is wall paper glue. When you are using it to put wall paper up, it won't stick a fly to a pile of manure. When you are tryi...
PIRANHA WALLPAPER TOOL
Would RecommendThis toll males scoring old wallpaper very easy. Don't put too much pressure on it though. Let's the warm water or stripping chemical in to loosen the glue.
Terrible
Would Not RecommendRemoving wallpaper is already one of the worst home improvement projects out there. This tool makes that task even more unbearable. The first section of wall went great, tool worked perfectly. Three feet later, the scoring was not as deep, forcing me to press down on the tool. Then the squeak started...it sounded as if someone was being tortured in my wall. The sound sent my wife and daughter out of the house. I pressed on...three feet later, 2 of the scoring wheels break off, determined to fi...
Call paper scratcher
Would RecommendIt works as advertised does a decent job needs to be bigger and put on a stick cover more area
Fragile
Would Not RecommendIt works well if you do smallish areas at a time. I decided to score my entire hallway first and then do one panel at a time with the remover. After nearly finishing the hallway one of the rotating arms melted off due to the heat from the constant friction, I guess. This seems like a bit of a design flaw. Metal parts would solve the problem. If you're going to use this, make sure to only do sections at a time, or you'll find yourself buying more of them. :(
Scraper
Would RecommendAlong with the wallpaper removal liquid, made the job real simple.
TOO Delicate a tool for a hard job.
Broke within 10minutes. Wheel broke off. They used a very cheap plastic. Wouldn't recommend, but I did return it the same day.
Fail
Would Not RecommendThere's no happy medium using this this. If you use it without much pressure, it doesn't perforate through the paper. If you push any harder, it leaves teeth marks in the wall. This did not help me one bit. It resulted in more work because now I need to fix the dings in the wall. It's also very noisy when moved over the paper and it doesn't perforate a large area at a time
Piranha wallpaper scoring tool
Would RecommendBought two ( in case one broke). Worked very well. I put painters tape on edges of border so I could get closer to edge, tape worked great. Removed 30' of border In two hours. Going to carry the unused one back.
Worked as advertised
Would RecommendIn this day and age "Worked as advertised" is saying something. Product worked well to help us remove five (5) layers of wallpaper from rough-coat plaster walls in a 121 year old house. It perforated the paper with just a light pressure on the tool and let us use plain water to saturate the paper without hurting the underlying plaster.
Works until it breaks which is pretty quick-like
Would Not RecommendRemoving paper from 10x11 room. Went through 2 of these and gave up. The wheels broke on two of them after 1 wall. Lowe's was good enough to replace.
