if you need a new remote

If you remote isn't working anymore then by all means, it does have some upgrades. Unfortunately it still has the single biggest flaw it has always had, the stupid preset buttons you can't change and always inadvertently push at the worst possible time. Ditch these Roku or at least let them be programmable, including to do nothing.

Roku Voice Remote Pro (2nd edition) is not durable

I started using the Voice Remote Pro (2nd edition) with the lighted buttons 10 days ago. The blue left, right, up, down buttons get lots of use, (with YouTube). The blue right button was showing signs of wear after 2 days of use. Now the blue left and right buttons hardly work. I put my four year old Roku Ultra Remote back into use. The buttons on the Ultra Remote are still in excellent condition.

I decided to upgrade my old remote with this new Pro 2nd edition. I had a small issue with the remote that was sent and customer service was easy to get ahold of and they took care of my issue swiftly. I couldn't be more pleased. Add a finger print reader

Add a finger print to each profile/user so we can have security for kids. A password on the screen doesn't work, they can see the # being entered. Then allow parents to choose which user can see which installed apps, and then later add the ability for apps made for Roku to subscribe to security based on program rating.

So many years, still missing tactile homing button

Even the latest Roku Remote lacks a tactile homing button, something so simple. The Play/Pause button, arguably the most used button on the remote, does not have any tactile homing buttons on it so that when you touch that button, you feel the little tiny bumps letting your finger know that you're on the right button without ever looking at it. Nearly every major remote for any device does this with their main button(s). Just add 3 raised dots on the play/pause button, problem solved.

Bring back the headphone jack!

I don't get why you have to have Disney, Netflix, Apple TV. Not everybody has those. Why not just enable them to be assigned to your favorite channels?
